Make Up For Ever La Boheme Rouge Artist Natural Lipstick in Folk - swatches, pics, review

Hello, Beautiful!

I've been on a major lipstick kick lately, and one of the lipsticks I recently purchased is the Make Up For Ever La Boheme Rouge Artist Natural Lipstick in the shade Folk. Their Rouge Artist Natural Lipsticks are newer; they've had their Rouge Artist Intense Lipsticks - which are very pigmented, but now they have a natural looking option. The La Boheme version has two limited shades - Boheme (which I also want) and Folk (which is what I'll show you in this post). In the future I'll share with you two of MUFE's Rouge Artist Natural shades (N11 and N35). For now, check out this pretty shade called Folk.

Make Up For Ever La Boheme Rouge Artist Natural Lipstick Review:
I really wanted to try this specific shade since the day I saw it on Sephora's website. As someone who doesn't wear red, this looked like a fresh, natural option to red that I could wear -- and I love the color! It looks brighter/deeper in tone in the tube than it does on the lips, and I like that. It goes on very creamy and smooth, and the color looks very natural in just one swipe.

You can build the color up slightly - of course if you want full color you would be better off getting MUFE's Rouge Artist Intense lipsticks, but this is a great option for those of us who like a more natural look. Great for those that aren't lipstick wearers because you don't like the full color.

The wear on this was just average - nothing long lasting, but it didn't fade in an instant. Of course how much you eat, drink, talk, kiss, etc. will affect how any lip product wears, so just re-apply as wanted/as needed.

Overall, I was really pleased with the formula, the color, and I can't wait to get the other two shades I ordered from the regular Rouge Artist Natural lipstick line!

Now let me know what you think...

  1. So pretty! I love how it gives a little more colour payoff than a balm, but doesn't have the thick, opaqueness of a traditional lipstick. Awesome!
