Born Pretty Store - Gold Square Studs - pics, review, NOTD

Hello, Beautiful!

I've been on the search for gold square studs for nail art decoration and finally found them at the Born Pretty Store. You can get a bag of 2mm gold studs for $5.73 (as low as $5.10 per bag if you buy in bulk). Check out my pics, review and NOTD using these gold studs. Use the code ASJ61 to save 10% on your Born Pretty Store order.

Born Pretty Store 2mm Gold Studs Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $5.73 (per bag). Available on the Born Pretty Store website. Use the code ASJ61 to save 10% on your Born Pretty Store order.
My Rating: 5 out of 5 Kisses!

These gold stud nail decorations are 2mm in size and can be used on natural or fake nails. You could also use them for other crafting purposes, but I'd personally suggest using them for your nails.

Easy to apply; just apply over wet polish (I use a top coat as my "glue" - Seche Clear). I used tweezers to put them onto my nail. You can use a top coat to seal them on, which is what I recommend, since it will help them last longer (which I did in the photos). If you use a gel nail system you can embed them in to your gel nails; same with acrylic.

They are sold by the bag, starting at $5.73 each and going down in price (per bag) if you buy in multiples (saving you a little money on each bag). On the website it doesn't list how many gold studs you receive, but I took the time to count them and there are almost 500 gold studs in the bag (498 in my bag), giving you plenty of uses from this one bag of studs.

The bag they come in is resealable, but I use little jars to store my nail art in.

I'd recommend these; they are a great size, easy to use, and stay on the nail easily because of their slightly curved design.

NOTD: Kisses for Valentine Kisses!

Hello, Beautiful!

I recently picked up two sets of the Sephora by OPI limited edition Betsey Johnson Trend Tips in the Lips print. Do they or do they not go perfectly with my blog and theme? They are practically screaming Valentine Kisses! I love them! And even though my nails are still stubs and having difficulties, lol, I still wanted to wear these for a few days this week. Let me know what you think of them!

And in case you're interested, you can pick up a pack for $12 on Sephora's website while they're still available (they're a limited edition product and there are 3 Betsey Johnson prints available - Lips, Cheetah, or Skulls).

Oh, and don't mind the fact that they are not applied perfectly. I put these on late last night, half asleep, but I just wanted to get it done. I didn't even know I had a tear on my middle finger nail until I went to go through the photos.

NOTD: China Glaze - Sexagon, plus: my son broke his nose! Ouch!

Hello, Beautiful!

Last night was a mess; we ended up taking my son to the emergency room (since it was a Sunday and nothing else was open) because it turns out he broke his nose! And get this... the same dog that broke my nose about a year and a half go is the same dog that broke my son's nose!!! My chocolate lab means well, he really does, but he is way too playful and strong. It was all a huge accident, where my son jumped off our deck (only about 2 or 3 feet tall), landed fine but then the dog jumped after him - hitting him on his back and pushing his face forward into the ground. He was inches away from the pavement, so thankfully he hit the dirt/grass instead. Still, it was enough to cause damage but thankfully my son isn't in too much pain from it, but still it was one of those situations where you go into mommy panic mode. When I walked around the corner all I saw was blood pouring out of his nose like a faucet. It really could have been so much worse, so really, he's pretty lucky when it comes to bad things happening. Of course it happened on April Fool's Day, so I was certain family wasn't going to believe me when I told them, lol.

Anyhow, because of all that mess, I didn't get around to photographing a NOTD like I had planned for today's post. Instead, I went back into my archived photos and found a NOTD I never posted on here. It's China Glaze polish in the shade Sexagon. I took these photos I believe last summer, so the quality isn't great but it's still a pretty holographic polish. More nail related posts will be in the month of April, so stayed tuned. For now, enjoy some pics of China Glaze Sexagon!

NOTD: China Glaze - Sexagon
These photos were taken so long ago that I don't remember if I used a base or top coat with this, and I don't remember how many coats. I do know they were all taken outdoors in sunlight. And again, sorry for the poor quality of these pics!

And here's some pics of my poor baby at the hospital...

WARNING: there is blood in the photos so if you're squeamish please skip this part of the post!

NOTD: Nude & Neon Polka Dots

Hello, Beautiful!

Sorry for a lack of nail related posts; I honestly haven't had the time to do my nails. I went almost an entire month without changing my polish - which is super unusual for me. I also shortened my nails super, super short because we have been remodeling our son's bedroom, and I just didn't want to even bother trying to keep them from breaking. They'll grow again, but for now they're short little stubs. Today I finally took some time to do my nails, and for some reason I was inspired by the Bobbi Brown Neons & Nudes makeup collection. I decided to go with simple polka dots, using a dotting tool.

To re-create this NOTD:

  • 1 coat of CND Stickey Base Coat
  • 2 coats of Zoya polish in Shay
  • Using a dotting tool, apply Color Club polish in Almost Famous to all fingers except ring/accent finger
  • Using a dotting tool, apply American Apparel Polish in Neon Red to ring/accent finger
  • 1 coat of Seche Vite to finish off
