Snowberry Soothing Facial Massage Oil - pics, swatches, review

Hello, Beautiful!

Over the summer I tried out the Snowberry Soothing Facial Massage Oil and thought I'd go ahead and make a review on it, because I think this is a great product now that we're moving into the fall and winter months. This massage oil does a great job at softening and hydrating skin, while its anti-inflammatory properties help to calm down any puffiness. Check out my full review below, including all the product info, after the pics!

Snowberry Soothing Facial Massage Oil

Snowberry Soothing Facial Massage Oil Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $32.00 (1 fl oz full size). Available on the Snowberry website, at Dermstore, at BeautyBar.com, and everywhere else Snowberry skincare products are sold.
My Rating: 4 out of 5 Kisses

Regular facial massage is a very important part of a good skin care and beauty regime. The Snowberry Soothing Facial Massage Oil is a superb blend of Azulene (the Chamomile extract that gives the oil its beautiful color), Inca Inchi, Passion Flower, and Rose Hip Oils that together provide anti-inflammatory properties as well as a rich complex of omega fatty acids and vitamin C.

Pomegranate oil extract is a powerful anti-oxidant and Bisabolol and Ginger Extract boosts the oil's anti-irritancy properties. Total refreshment for the skin! The oil is an ideal top-up natural moisturizer throughout the day and is especially suitable for dry and sensitive skin.

To use this, just gently massage the oil into the face and neck and if necessary, pat dry with a tissue.

This product has a light blue color and an earthy scent - which I actually didn't like. The scent is really just not a good match for my nose, but other people don't seem to mind it as much as I do.

The product, however, is very moisturizing. It absorbs easily onto the face too - sort of the way a serum absorbs, but it doesn't absorb so quickly that you don't have time to massage your face, which is the point of this product.

Even though this is really great for those with dry skin, I also feel its great for those with oily/acne prone skin too. I will say that over the summer my skin tends to be more oily, but now it's more combo normal/dry. In the summer I didn't use this all that often just because of how hydrating it is. If you do have oily skin I'd recommend using it as a nighttime treatment, and maybe using it just once or twice a week. Another good tip is if you have acne prone skin you could use this to help soothe and moisturize your dry patches - because sometime acne-healing products can dry out certain areas of your skin. The anti-inflammatory properties in this oil really help with acne that is inflamed, while softening your dry areas.

Now that my skin is more combo normal to dry I find that it's great to soften and hydrate my skin. I don't use this all the time; this is more of a treatment product for me rather than a daily use type product, only because the scent throws me off. But if you're looking for a different way to hydrate your skin, this is it!

Snowberry Sun Protection - 2 types: Everyday SPF 15 and Active Outdoor SPF 30 - pics, swatches, reviews

Hello, Beautiful!

I have two sun protection products from the brand Snowberry to share with you in this post. The Everyday Broad Spectrum Medium Sun Protection SPF 15 and the Active Outdoor Broad Spectrum High Sun Protection SPF 30. Both products have a nice, light pleasant (non-sunscreen) smell and leave behind no white residue. They're a natural choice to sun protection. Check out my full review on each version below, including all the product info, after each set of pics!

Snowberry Everyday Broad Spectrum Medium Sun Protection SPF 15

Snowberry Everyday Broad Spectrum Medium Sun Protection SPF 15 Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $36.00 (1.7 oz full size). Check it out on the Snowberry website, and purchase at Dermstore, and everywhere else Snowberry products are sold. Click here to find a retailer near you.
My Rating: 5 out of 5 Kisses!

Everyday SPF 15 is completely natural, with that deliciously light, clear texture that you will love on your skin. And Everyday SPF 15 is a certified broad spectrum sun protection product, which means that you are being protected against both UVB and UVA light. Many dermatologists warm against moisturizers with added SPF because the product is generally not used in sufficient quantity to provide even minimal protection, and may not be certified to sun care standards.

According to dermatologists, SPF 15, probably applied will give much better protection than SPF 50 that is not properly applied. Research also shows that the higher SPF rating, the less product most people use. You may not know that SPF 15 provides about 93% protection against UVB and surprisingly SPF 30 provides just 4% more. So, it is more in how you use your product than its rating that is important! You should also know that SPF 15 means you have protection against UVB only (the rays that cause sunburn) for 15x the burn time if you weren't wearing a sun product. Because SPF is not a measure of protection against the more dangerous UVA light, Snowberry's Everyday SPF 15 is also certified under the internationally recognized Boots Star system to provide good UVA protection.

Apply Everyday SPF 15 liberally in the morning 20 minutes before sun exposure. Re-apply regularly (about every 2 hours), especially when outdoors.

This is a really nice sunscreen. It has a nice, light scent (that isn't your typical sunscreen scent) and it absorbs into skin nicely. It does feel a bit sticky after you first apply it, but it will absorb into your skin and you won't feel that stickiness after several minutes. There is no white residue after applying either! Your skin will feel soft too!

I will say it is a bit pricey for sun protection, especially if you typically buy something from the drugstore, but it is a quality product and a natural product.

Overall, I really liked this sunscreen and would recommend if you're looking for a natural alternative. If you plan to be outdoors a lot, you may want to try their Active Outdoor version, which has SPF 30.

Snowberry Active Outdoor Broad Spectrum High Sun Protection SPF 30

Snowberry Active Outdoor Broad Spectrum High Sun Protection SPF 30 Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $38.00 (1.7 oz full size). Available at Dermstore, and everywhere else Snowberry products are sold. Click here to find a retailer near you.
My Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Kisses

Snowberry Active Outdoor Broad Spectrum High Sun Protection SPF 30 protects against harmful UVA and UVB rays to keep your skin healthy and burn-free. The lightweight, chemical-free formula features seaweed and aloe vera extracts to nourish for a calm, comfortable fee.

Apply Active Outdoor SPF 30 liberally in the morning, 20 minutes before sun exposure. Re-apply regularly (about every 2 hours), especially when outdoors.

Just like their Everyday SPF 15 version, this has an nice light scent (not your typical sunscreen smell), and goes on nicely - absorbing into skin. It is slightly thicker than the SPF 15, but not that much so. I did find my skin was a bit sticky after I first applied it but after it has a chance to sink into your skin that sticky feeling will go away. No white residue left behind!

I will say it is a bit pricey for sun protection, especially if you typically buy something from the drugstore, but it is a quality product and a natural product.

This is a great natural sunscreen that I'd recommend checking out!
