Jean Pierre Cosmetics Self Tan Wipes, Nail Polish Remover Wipes, & Daily Exfoliating Cleansing Towelettes - pics, reviews

Hello, Beautiful!

Jean Pierre Cosmetics makes a range of cosmetic wipes/towelettes, and if something comes in a wipe for some reason I'm a sucker for it! You can find them at places like Ulta, drugstores, and sometimes even TJ Maxx. I have three of their products to share with you in this one post: their Self Tan Wipes (which come 10 in a box), their Nail Polish Remover Wipes (also come 10 in a box), and their newer Exfoliating Daily Cleansing Towelettes (which comes 30 in a pack). Check out my full review, including all the product info, on each product after each set of pics!

Self Tan Wipes

Jean Pierre Cosmetics Self Tan Wipes Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $8.99 (10 wipes per box, full size). Available at Ulta, Drugstore.com, TJ Maxx (sometimes), and everywhere else Jean Pierre Cosmetics are sold. Click here to find a retailer near you.
My Rating: 3.5 out of 5 Kisses

Jean Pierre Cosmetics Self Tan Wipes are for both the body and the face. Quick and even, streak-free application. Hypoallergenic.

To Use: Remove wipe from packet and unfold completely. Apply evenly to clean, dry skin in a circular motion. Make sure you wash your hands as soon as you're done (or wear disposable gloves) to prevent orange palms. For a deeper tan, if you prefer, apply another towelette after 2 to 3 hours.

These wipes have a self-tanner smell - which is to be expected from a self tanner, but so many self tan products now a-days are trying to smell better, so it was hard to go back to that self-tanner scent. Still, these did actually work. They didn't make me look orange - which is a plus. Just enhanced my already naturally tanned skin (although my legs are pretty white!)

I don't think they're the most amazing self tanner out there, but they are convenient to use and a nice option to take with you if you're traveling.

Nail Polish Remover Wipes

Jean Pierre Cosmetics Nail Polish Remover Wipes Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $3.99 (10 count box, full size). Available at Ulta, Drugstore.com, TJ Maxx (sometimes), and everywhere else Jean Pierre Cosmetics are sold. Click here to find a retailer near you.
My Rating: 4 out of 5 Kisses

Jean Pierre Cosmetics Nail Polish Remover Wipes do not contain acetone. One wipe will remove polish from all 10 nails. Nourishes the cuticles. Ideal for traveling.

These have a nail polish remover scent, but of course they do. I had just also recently tried another nail polish remover wipe and they didn't smell like nail polish remover, so I guess that's why I noted their scent.

They do a nice job at removing nail polish. One wipe is enough for all 10 fingers and possibly even your toes, just depending on the polish you're wearing. I wouldn't recommend these for glitter polish removal; it would just take too long and you'd like need more than one wipe, but they do work for normal polish removal.

I would recommend these for travel or to keep in your purse (or book bag), but I wouldn't recommend these for everyday use, as they're a bit expensive for that purpose. But I do think they are perfect to take with you and not have to worry about nail polish remover spilling!

Jean Pierre Cosmetics
Exfoliating Daily Cleansing Towelettes

Jean Pierre Cosmetics Exfoliating Daily Cleansing Towelettes Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $3.99 to $4.99 depending where you shop (30 count, full size). Available at Ulta, Drugstore.com, TJ Maxx (sometimes), and everywhere else Jean Pierre Cosmetics are sold. Click here to find a retailer near you.
My Rating: 4 out of 5 Kisses

Jean Pierre Cosmetics Exfoliating Daily Cleansing Towelettes easily removes dead skin cells, while deeply cleaning down to your pores. Leaves skin silky smooth. Alcohol-free. Hypoallergenic. PH Balanced.

One side of these wipes is smooth, while the other side is textured for exfoliation. The exfoliating side does a nice job at exfoliating your skin. If you have very sensitive skin you may think the exfoliation is a bit rough, but my skin had no problem with it. It left my skin soft and smooth.

The scent of these is just okay; nothing I really liked but I could tolerate it. They aren't very wet, and I don't like to use them to remove my makeup. I wouldn't recommend them for eye makeup removal at all, but they should take care of most - if not all - your face makeup. I just like to use these in place of a cleanser if I'm being lazy. I liked these and would recommend if you like using wipes but are looking for ones that will give you some exfoliation.

Jergens Natural Glow +Firming Daily Moisturizer in Medium to Tan - pics, swatches, review

Hello, Beautiful!

I'm the type of person whose legs seem to be whiter than everything else, probably because I hardly wear shorts or dresses - although now that I'm losing weight I feel a bit better about it. So to catch my legs up to the rest of my body I like to use self-tanners. One of my favorites is from the drugstore: Jergens Natural Glow - which is one of the only drugstore self-tanners I like. There are several types of the Jergens Natural Glow; in this post I'll show you the Firming Daily Moisturizer version. I also have the 3-day formula - which I will share with you in another blog post soon.

Check out my full review and all the info on this product after the pics!

Jergens Natural Glow
+Firming Daily Moisturizer

Jergens Natural Glow + Firming Daily Moisturizer Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $8.50 to $9.99 depending where you shop (7.5 oz full size). Available at Walmart, Target, Ulta, Walgreens, CVS, Drugstore.com, and everywhere else Jergens is sold.
My Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Kisses

Jergens Natural Glow + Firming Daily Moisturizer gradually creates fabulous natural-looking color with a subtle skin-darkening complex. In as little as 7 days you'll experience visibly firmer skin with less noticeable cellulite and improved elasticity.

Available in Fair to Medium skintones and Medium to Tan skintones. I have it in Medium to Tan.

There is a little sticker on the outside that says "Finally Great Color Without Odor" - but don't think this is completely without scent. There is still a subtle scent, but it's not offensive and certainly not self-tanner smelling at all. The subtle scent is actually kind of nice.

The texture of this lotion is nice as well. You just rub it in until you feel a slight resistance (which is a signal the product is starting to work). Sounds weird but you'll know it. Then allow it to dry for a few minutes before getting dressed. Wash your hands when you're done because you don't want dark palms! After a few days you'll notice yourself getting a gradual, healthy looking tan.

The reason I love the Jergens self tanners is specifically because it is a gradual tan that looks natural. Sure there are times I want instant results - or results within hours - but on a normal basis it's nice to build that tan as you would if you were on vacation or something. Plus, it looks natural on my skintone - which is a huge plus to look naturally tan and not orange tan.

There is the original Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer, but why not have one that also firms and reduces the appearance of cellulite? Although I'm not totally sure it does that in just 7 days; I use my Mama Mio Bootcamp for Butts and that stuff seriously works at reducing your cellulite; so does the Stellar Cellulite Gel! Either way, I'm going to use the one that could give me added firming benefits!

They also offer their 3-day version, which I also own and will review in a separate blog post. There is the Foaming Daily Moisturizer too - but I haven't tried that one. They also have one that has SPF 20 in it, and also a Face version too. To check out all the Jergens Natural Glow options click here.

Overall, one of the best drugstore self tanners out there - at least in my opinion - and one that I, over the years, recommend time and time again.

Tarte Journey to Natural Beauty 6-pc Collection - before & after, pics, swatches, review, FOTD

Hello, Beautiful!

I love me some QVC! Especially when they bring me brands like Tarte and pack together a bunch of great makeup at an even greater price. I recently purchased the Tarte TSV (Today's Special Value), and even though I get the Q Insider Magazine, meaning I could order it early, I decided to wait until I saw the on-air presentation. I shouldn't have waited; I love this kit and I knew I would. Next time I'll order right away!

Although no longer at the TSV price (which was $59.94), you can still get this kit for just over $65 on QVC's website (plus shipping and handling). When I checked the website last they were sold out of the Fair and Light shades, but I'm sure if you keep checking back they will come back in stock. I ordered this in Medium, if that helps anyone. This 6-pc collection even comes with a bonus mini sample of the Maracuja Self Tanner, not mentioned on the website; I've been wanting to try this self tanner so I'm excited to give it a try.

Check out my pics, swatches, info, review, and complete makeup look (FOTD) ... click on pics to view them larger.

Tarte Journey To Natural Beauty

Tarte Journey To Natural Beauty 6-pc Collection Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $72.50 - although currently $65.94 (for the entire kit). Available on QVC's website.
My Rating: 5 out of 5 Kisses!

I love Tarte products, and their kits on QVC always impress me. This kit was another winner in my book. I'll break it down product by product on what I thought.

First up, the foundation...

The Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Foundation is a nice whipped mousse type liquid foundation. I have it in Medium, which works well for my skintone. I don't think it's a true full coverage, but it certainly does offer great medium coverage. It lasts long on me, even if I don't set it and even if I don't use a primer.

The Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush is one of my favorite brushes; I have one from their first kit back in March 2011 in their 8th World Wonder Best of The Amazon 7-pc Collection. That's also when I first tried the foundation. The brush applies foundation beautifully and is very well made. For sure a brush I'd buy on its own. What makes this brush different from the first tone is the handle; it has a special fabric handle that matches the makeup bag. I love it! Super cute!

The Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Fearless is beautiful. A nice warm pinky rose color. There is shimmer in this blush, maybe more than I would like, but once on it looks natural. Very pigmented too, so be careful of how much you apply. It gives my cheeks a nice warm pink glow. Tarte blushes are some of my favorite and I'm always happy to have another in my makeup collection. They apply beautifully and really do last like their name says.

The Amazonian Butter Lipstick is a new product. The color is pretty and the formula is divine. It felt smooth and comfortable on my lips - going on like butter. It even had a shine to it, sort of like a glossy lip balm. The shade Plummy Rose looks darker in the tube than when applied, so I was happy with the color on my lips; a flattering shade for sure! The packaging is in a cardboard tube, which I get is part of the natural concept, but I don't really care for it (it wears a lot faster/gets dirtier easier), but I love the formula of this lipstick so I'd be interested in more shades!

The Brow Architect is another new product. I have sparse brows so I was really curious to try this out, as I already love Tarte's  emphasEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Brow Mousse, and the Tarte EmphasEYES Amazonian Clay Brow Pencil. It does a nice job at filling in my brows, and the color is universal so you just press harder for darker color/lighter touch for a lighter color. The highlighter that comes with it worked well with my skintone and made my brow area nice and clean looking. I already have products similar to it, but really liked this one.

The Lights, Camera, Flashes! Statement Mascara in Black is their newest mascara. If you love their Lights, Camera, Lashes! Mascara then this is supposed to be twice as amazing. I wasn't really having high hopes for this, because I really don't like their Lights, Camera, Lashes! Mascara; I mean, it's ok but it never did too much for my lashes. However, the Lights, Camera, Flashes! Statement Mascara is amazing. Gave me va-va-voom length and some volume with an intense black color. Loved my lashes after using this.

The makeup bag is super cute, but it's just one big dump bag. No compartments, which is okay, but not sure I want to just toss my makeup into this large bag. I will likely use the bag for hair products when I travel. It's large enough and will fit them nicely. Although you can't tell by the photos, the tan/beige part of the bag actually has gold metallic running throughout, which I didn't notice during the on-air presentation but was a nice surprise because it gives the bag something extra rather than a boring plain side.

The sample of the Maracuja Self Tanner is great because I really, really, really wanted to try this. Can't wait to give it a go in the near future.

Overall, this kit was a winner for me, and one I'd recommend getting. Even without a concealer, eyeshadow, eye liner, primer/setting powder - this kit still gave me a completed natural look. My before and after pics speak for themselves to show you what just these few items can do to improve your overall look. And, my hair was bed head - so that extra shows how much it makes up for everything else going on. I personally would still need to use concealer with this, as well as primer and setting powder. Of course eyeshadow and eyeliner to really finish off the look but this kit gives you a lot of great products for one low price.

This is one kit I recommend picking up for yourself and even one as a gift!
