L'Occitane Immortelle Brightening Instant Exfoliator - pics, swatches, review

Hello, Beautiful!

Exfoliators and masks are my skin care addiction; I have too many already and I'm always ready to try more. I've had this exfoliator for awhile now but haven't really had the opportunity to put it to a good test until more recently, and I don't like to post skin care reviews until I've really had the chance to try it out. I gave the L'Occitane Immortelle Brightening Instant Exfoliator about 6 weeks of consistent use (1 to 3 times a week). Check out my full review below, including all the product info, after the pics!

L'Occitane Immortelle Brightening Instant Exfoliator Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $36.00 (2.6 fl oz full size). Available on the L'Occitane website, at Nordstrom, on the Beauty.com website, and everywhere else L'Occitane products are sold.
My Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Kisses

The L'Occitane Brightening Instant Exfoliator exfoliates the skin, for an even-toned and luminous complexion.

Its fresh gel texture transforms into a soft milk while rinsing. It combines Pure Immortelle Essential Oil to protect against impurities and for anti-aging effectiveness. Bellis Perennis Brightening Extract to make the complexion look uniform and more luminous. Vegetal Origin Exfoliation Powders to help purify and smooth, while glycerin helps preserve the skin's moisture. Skin texture appears more even and complexion looks brighter, with a youthful glow.

Contains natural micro-granules (pumice stone, cellulose) for deep exfoliating action. Skin appears more even and looks brighter, with a youthful glow. Use the exfoliator two or three times a week. Apply to dry face and neck, avoiding the eye area.

L'Occitane's Immortelle Brightening skin care line provides beauty benefits from the Mediterranean "flowers of light", Immortelle and Bellis Perennis (Daisy). Immortelle is a flower with exceptional longevity: it never fades, even after it has been picked. Its essential oil is rich in active molecules with unique anti-aging results. Bellis Perennis, better known as the daisy, yeilds a brightening extract that helps maintain and even skin tone.

STUDY:
Conduced on 26 women after 4 weeks of use:
  • Immediately after appliaction, the skin is purified, smooth and soft for 100% of those women.
  • After 4 weeks, the complexion is more even for 92% of those women.
  • After 4 weeks, the complexion is more luminous for 100% of those women.
  • After 4 weeks, wrinkle are reduced for 88% of those women.

Directions For Use:
Use this exfoliator 2 to 3 times a week. Apply to dry face and neck, avoiding the eye area.

For best results, use the following technique:
1. Apply to face and gently massage the chin with circular movements and work outwards towards the ears.
2. Continue these circular movements on the nose, then again work outwards towards the ears.
3. Finish at the forehead, gliding your hands towards the temples.
4. Add a little water to produce a later, while continuing the massage, then rinse.

L'Occitane makes some really wonderful body products -- their Almond Shower Oil is a staple in my shower, and I'm obsessed with their entire almond line, especially their Almond Paste -- but up until recently I hadn't tried any of their face products. Like always, with almost any skin care brand, I start by trying an exfoliator or face mask. The L'Occitane Immortelle Brightening Instant Exfoliator seemed like a great product to try out, and it comes with a lot of claims.

I used it for about 6 weeks on a consistent basis, using it 1 to 3 times a week. I know you're supposed to use it 2 to 3 times a week, but my schedule doesn't always allow me to do that (and I'm still using other skin care products - including other exfoliators - from time to time; it's just the way I do things, as I'm constantly trying new things and also trying to use up products).

Some of the claims are that your complexion will be more even, luminous and wrinkles reduced after 4 weeks of use - in addition to skin being purified, smooth and soft. I will say that my skin is definitely soft and smooth, but I find that to be true after most exfoliators. However, what I did love is that my skin tone does seem to be more even and slightly more luminous. I can't really speak about wrinkle reduction, as I don't have many wrinkles at the moment (I'll be 30 years old in less than 2 months), but I think any exfoliator can help with that, as removing the dead skin allows for your other skin care products (serums, treatments, moisturizers, etc.) to penetrate better, therefore working better for you.

Overall, I really liked this exfoliator. I think if you're looking for a high end/luxury exfoliator that will also even your complexion and make it more luminous (and possibly reduce wrinkles), then this is a good one to look into!

L'Occitane Aromachologie Radiance and Hair Color Mask - pics, swatches, review

Hello, Beautiful!

If you don't already, you should be doing a hair mask in your hair care routine. There are many out there on the market, and I own a handful of them, with some being specific to your hair type and hair needs. I have one great for color care - the L'Occitane Aromachologie Radiance and Color Care Mask. Read all the info and my full review on this hair mask after the pics!

L'Occitane Aromachologie
Radiance and Color Care Mask

L'Occitane Aromachologie Radiance and Color Care Mask Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $32.00 (8.4 oz full size). Available on the L'Occitane website and at some retailers that sell L'Occitane.
My Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Kisses

The rich, creamy Radiance and Color Care Mask for color-treated hair is formulated with a botanical blend of five essential oils: geranium, palmarosa, bergamot, rosemary and cedar - as well as grape seed extract, to help keep color from fading.

With a melting texture, the formula detangles hair, leaving color vibrant and hair soft, shiny and easy to manage. Additionally, UV filters help protect your hair color against the sun's harmful rays.

I love pretty much everything L'Occitane makes, but this is my first time using one of their hair care products and I really liked this. I have a slight addiction to hair masks, and I have a preference on which are my favs and which don't do a lot. I find this masks makes my hair super soft and shiny, as well as really manageable. I do have color in my hair - although it's not fresh color - but it makes my natural hair color and the old hair color look healthy and clean.

I don't really like the smell, but I find it tolerable for sure. Doesn't stick around for long and because my hair feels great after using this, I can deal with the scent. Keep in mind I am sensitive to smells so you may not care about this scent at all.

I apply this mask in the shower, after shampooing. I leave it in for about 5 minutes (2 minutes minimum). You can also wrap your hair with a warm towel to help open your scalp and allow the mask to sink deeply into the capillary fiber. You don't have to do this in the shower, but you'll want to apply it to wet hair (squeeze excess water from hair before applying). Then I really massage it in - starting at my ends - making sure it really penetrates my hair. I'll leave it on while I do a body scrub or something and then rinse it out. I usually don't follow up with a conditioner because the mask will be all I need to condition my hair.

If you have color treated hair you may want to look into using a color-care mask - like this one from L'Occitane - to keep your hair color vibrant.

L'Occitane Lavender Body and Massage Gel - pics, swatches, review

Hello, Beautiful!

I love L'Occitane products; their almond line of products are some of my favorite body care products of all time. I recently tried out their Lavender Body and Massage Gel - which feels really great going onto the skin, doesn't feel greasy and the scent is light and relaxing. Check out my full review below.

L'Occitane Lavender Body and Massage Gel

L'Occitane Lavender Body and Massage Gel Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $35.00 (6.7 fl oz full size). Available on the L'Occitane website, at Nordstrom, and everywhere else L'Occitane products are sold.
My Rating: 4 out of 5 Kisses

This rich and smooth Lavender Massage Gel envelops the body with a soft, relaxing, aromatic scent. Its mild and gentle formula can be used every day to help nourish and soften the skin. It also makes for an excellent massage application, for delicious moments of pure relaxation.

I really liked the textured of this; very lightweight and smooth. It was non-sticky and non-greasy, which was great for massaging onto the skin. I will say that it absorbed into my skin faster than other massage products I've used, but it didn't leave any greasy feeling behind and my skin felt very soft after using this.

I think this is a nice massage product - for me, maybe not for everyday use or long, intense massages - but definitely one I enjoy reaching for. If you like lavender scents you will love this one and I suggest giving it a try.

L'Occitane - Almond Foot Care: pics, swatches, review

Hello, Beautiful!

As someone who is obsessed with nail polish, it's safe to assume I like to take care of my nails and my feet. I have a lot of foot creams because I get really dry heels. One thing that is pretty true for every single one of them is they feel greasy or slick for a little - leaving me waiting for them to dry, or walk around sliding everywhere. Then I discovered a foot cream that doesn't do that at all! It's the L'Occitane Almond Foot Care. This foot cream dries almost instantly down to a powder so there is no grease, no slick, and no slide!

Check out my pics, swatches, info, and review... click on pics to view them larger.

L'Occitane - Almond Foot Care

L'Occitane Almond Foot Care Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $16.00 (1.7 fl oz full size). Available on the L'Occitane website
My Rating: 5 out of 5 Kisses!

Nourish, relieve and refresh your feet with the L'Occitane Limited Edition Almond Foot Care. This lightly scented cream, which melts quickly into the skin, captures the softening properties of almond milk. Contains nourishing shea butter to repair damaged skin, plus refreshing and purifying mint essential oil for an instantly pleasant sensation.

The L'Occitane Almond Foot Care formula has a powdery finish, enabling you to put socks on immediately following application - or walk barefoot with not slip and slide.

I really love all the L'Occitane almond products - their Almond Shower Oil is a staple for me - so I was excited to give this a try. It doesn't have the same almond scent as their other almond products but it still smells nice; it's light. More of a mint almond scent, if that makes sense.

The texture is creamy and smooth, and it really does absorb into your skin quickly. I was giddy when it dried down so fast to a powdery finish, making my feet feel normal - not greasy or slick. I also didn't need to use a whole lot to get the job done, which was nice because it's not the biggest tube.

I would say if your heels are really dry/calloused then you should take care of that before you use this cream - as you should with most foot creams. I don't think this foot cream really works to take care of really dry, cracked or calloused feet, as I don't feel it could penetrate through all that. But if your feet are more of a normal dry skin then this will work great at making your feet smooth and soft.

This is a winner to me; I just hope they add this product to their core line instead of making it limited edition because this powder finish is too good to not keep around! Definitely would recommend!

L'Occitane Almond Delicious Paste - pics, review

Hello, Beautiful!

I love the L'Occitane line of almond products; I think they have some of the best smelling almond products on the market! I love, love, love their Almond Shower Oil (which I included in my November 2011 Favorites) - it's great for cleansing the body and great for shaving too. I recently tried out their Almond Delicious Paste and fell in love with this product right away. It's a great way to exfoliate your skin without being harsh. It smells great, and when I follow up with the Almond Shower Oil I can almost hear my skin thanking me, lol.

L'Occitane Almond Delicious Paste Review:
Without even trying this product, I knew I'd love it. The reason being because the L'Occitane brand is great quality and their almond line of products is my absolute favorite! I love almond scented products, and I feel L'Occitane has the market cornered when it comes to great smelling almond products.

This scrub is creamy and gentle, and gets my skin soft and smooth. I don't need to use this everyday, but I could if I wanted to because it's not a harsh scrub at all. It's very gentle, and I feel like it melts into my skin.

If my skin is super, super, super dry this scrub will of course be helpful, but I prefer to use a harsher/coarser scrub in that situation. Then I'll follow up with this scrub because it's great for your skin.

Overall, yes, a great scrub that I would recommend... unless you don't like almond scented products (of if you had a nut allergy, as I'd assume you couldn't use this due to the crushed almonds).
