Essence Single Eyeshadows - 8 shades - pics, swatches, review

Hello, Beautiful!

I recently got three new Essence eyeshadows in shades Black Goddess, Yes Eye Can!, and Strawberry Ice Cream. I decided to blog about the three new shades but then thought I'd show swatches of all the Essence single eyeshadows I own, which happens to be eight shades. I like these shadows a lot; they're affordable and available in a range of nice colors. Check out my full review below, including all the product info, after the pics!

Essence - Single Eyeshadows
Shades: 35 Party All Night, 06 Metropolitan, 09 Get Ready, 04 Black Goddess, 58 Cappuccino, Please!, 11 Wild At Heart, 54 Yes Eye Can!, 68 Strawberry Ice Cream

Essence - Single Eyeshadow Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $2.49 (0.08 oz full size). Available at Ulta.
My Rating: 5 out of 5 Kisses!

Single eyeshadows with a high pigmentation guarantee a colorful start to the season. Whether shimmering, matte, metallic, or even holographic, the Essence shades create unique effects on your eyes and give your fingal look an extra special touch.

These drugstore eyeshadows have really nice pigmentation, especially over an eyeshadow primer. I have eight shades in my makeup collection of the single Essence eyeshadow. I think I use the shade Party All Night the most, but I really love one of my newest shades, Black Goddess.

Below are the shades I have and it lists if they are a shimmering, sparkling, or metallic finish.

  • 35 Party All Night - metallic
  • 06 Metropolitan - sparkling
  • 09 Get Ready - shimmer
  • 04 Black Goddess - sparkling
  • 58 Cappuccino, Please! - shimmer
  • 11 Wild At Heart - metallic
  • 54 Yes Eye Can! - shimmer
  • 68 Strawberry Ice Cream - shimmer

I really like these shadows; they are really affordable at $2.49 each regular price at Ulta and you can sometimes catch them on sale -- such as Buy 1, Get 1 At 50% off.

The shade 04 Black Goddess is a must-have shade; very pigmented and gorgeous to use as a smoldering liner shade. But really, you can't go wrong with any of these shades.

Would recommend Essence single eyeshadows!

Essence All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder - pics, swatches, review

Hello, Beautiful!

With summer here in full effect, I've been needing more and more products to keep me matte and oil-free. The new Essence All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder is a pressed powder that is meant to mattify skin and set your makeup. I actually really did like this! Check out my full review, including all the product info, after the pics.

Essence All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder

Essence All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $3.99 (0.28 oz full size). Available at Ulta and everywhere else Essence cosmetics are sold.
My Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Kisses

If you prefer pressed powder, this fine, compact powder is for you! It can be applied over foundation to mattify skin and set your makeup. Gives a matte, natural and smooth complexion. Available in one, transparent color for all skin types.

I thought the texture of this was a bit rough... although I'm sure that's the wrong way to describe the point I'm trying to make. What I mean to say, is that this powder isn't as silky and smooth as some other compact powders. Despite how it feels being swatched, it actually goes on pretty well.

It does swatch a bit white, but it will blend out nearly - if not completely - translucent. If you have darker skintones you may want to apply with a fluffy brush and a light hand to avoid using too much, which will give you skin a white cast to it. Medium to fair complexions probably won't have any issues with this having a white case. But that is pretty true with a lot of "transparent" powders.

This surprisingly worked really well! It made me matte, but not overly matte -- which is something I was really fond of with this product. It absolutely helped keep me matte for several hours, and if you need to, touch-up's are easy. I apply with a fluffy powder brush/blush brush.

For $3.99 (and cheaper if you use a coupon at Ulta), I think this is a budget-friendly product that will keep you matte. I think I may like it even more than the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, but I need to use them both one after another to really see which I prefer. But, I would absolutely recommend you pick up the Essence All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder.

Essence Stay With Me Longlasting Lipgloss in Candy Bar, Pretty Witty - pics, swatches, review

Hello, Beautiful!

Back in November 2012 I reviewed the Essence Stay With Me Longlasting Lipgloss in the shade Kiss Kiss Kiss - which looks like a vibrant red but is sheer on the lips and oh so pretty. I have since gotten two more shades: Candy Bar and Pretty Witty - which I'll share with you in this post. I am in love with both shades - but especially have been wearing Candy Bar non-stop. Check out my full review below, including all the product info, after the pics!

Now even more color-intensive and long-lasting! This lipgloss stays exactly where it should - on your lips - and stands out for its amazing colors. Available in six shades, including the newest Pretty Witty. Click here to reference my blog post on the shade Kiss Kiss Kiss.

This is a very shiny gloss and felt comfortable on my lips; non-sticky. The applicator, which is like a domed doe-foot applicator that is cinched at the middle, was easy to work with and apply the gloss.

I still find the color to be on the sheer to medium color pay off, but I prefer that with this formula. Although I will say the newest shade to the collection, Pretty Witty, had more pigmentation than Kiss Kiss Kiss or Candy Bar. It's not a super long-lasting gloss by any means, but I still like the colors and formula enough to want all the shades!

I still love this gloss formula, the affordable price, and would recommend!

Hello, Beautiful!

The new Essence 3D Eyeshadow is as pretty to look at in the packaging as it is on your lids. I have this in two shade duos: Irresistible Chocolates and Irresistible Caramel Cream. These two shimmering neutral shadow duos are beautiful! Check out my full review, including all the product info, after the pics.

My Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Kisses

The new Essence duo eyeshadow with a 3D look and a 3D effect is here! The 3mm-high relief design offers an ultimate 3D look and the ultra-light eyeshadow texture creates a cool finish with a 3D effect. Applied moist, the shadow guarantees even more intense results. Available in six shadow duos, each with two perfectly aligned shades.

These shadows have nice pigmentation, go on pretty and really good color duos. The shade 04 Irresistible Caramel Cream is a great warm neutral duo. And the shade 09 Irresistible Chocolates is a more of a cooler toned duo. Both would compliment just about everyone!

Really liked the way these look too; they're pretty! Overall, I liked these and would recommend.
