LipMonthly - Get your first box for only $5!!

Hello, Beautiful!

If I'm a sucker for something, it's monthly beauty subscription services -- and as of lately, non-beauty monthly subscription services as well (Horror Block, Loot Crate and Nerd Block Jr.). The $5 deal is for a limited time, so don't miss out (it was $5.99 and then $7.99 just the other day!). It's normally only $10 a month and the price includes shipping. If for some reason you sign up and it's not $5 just refer them to this blog post and hopefully they'll refund you any difference!

Sign up by CLICKING HERE (it's my referral link) and use the code SUMMERLIPS to get your first box for just $5!

Each month you'll receive 2 to 3 FULL SIZED lip products and 2 to 3 sample sized products (may not be all lip products for the samples -- I saw a mascara in someones unboxing). I'll be getting my first box in July - don't miss out on yours! Join me and let's be LipMonthly friends!

Lipstick Queen Jungle Queen lipstick - pics, swatches, review

Hello, Beautiful!

I love Lipstick Queen lipsticks! They recently launched a new shade: Jungle Queen. It's a gorgeous orange coral shade, perfect for summer. What I love best is you can wear this shade sheer for a subtle touch of color, or go full on bold with the gorgeous Jungle Queen shade! Check out all the product info, along with my full review, after the pics!

Lipstick Queen Jungle Queen  Lipstick
Shade: Jungle Queen: Pop-Papaya Coral

Lipstick Queen Lipstick Jungle Queen Lipstick Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $22.00 (0.12 oz full size). Available on the Lipstick Queen website, at Ulta, and everywhere else Lipstick Queen is sold.
My Rating: 5 out of 5 Kisses!

Product Info...

A color-popping coral suspended in a super-nourishing formulation, Jungle Queen flatters all complexions and is 100% fabulous when paired with your favorite big cat prints. Rrrroar!

Semi-sheer, moisturizing formula enriched with nourishing natural oils. Ultra-protective antioxidant Vitamin E conditions and hydrates the lips. Super-flattering hint of luminescence plays beautifully against animal prints.

My Review...

When I first opened the tube I was like "whoa" -- this is a very bold and vibrant looking fiery orange coral shade in the tube, but on the lips it doesn't have to be that bold. In fact, it can actually be worn pretty sheer if you so choose it to be. It's described as a fiercely flattering coral, that will flatter all complexions.

For me, I like bold shades like Jungle Queen during the spring and summer, but I don't want such a bold lip all the time. This lipstick kind of has the best of both worlds. You can apply a lip balm underneath and then immediately after apply this lipstick (just one swipe for each lip - or even one swipe for both lips). It will give you a sheer kiss of color, still giving you an orange color tone but just a softer version.

If you want to go bold with this lipstick just apply straight from the tube onto your lips without any balm underneath and you can swipe a few times to build it up to your desired intensity. It's described as a semi-sheer shade, but I find it pretty intense on its own. Maybe I apply too much, but I don't find this semi-sheer unless I have a balm underneath and do one swipe for both lips or per lip.

What I like is the formula. Just like all Lipstick Queen lipsticks that I own, these go on extremely smooth and feel extremely comfortable on the lips. And for whatever reason, I always feel special applying these lipsticks... maybe it's the tube they come in; just feels a bit more luxe - know what I mean?

Final Thoughts...

If you're looking for an orange coral shade, this is one to check out - especially if you're already a fan of Lipstick Queen lipsticks!

QVC Discovery Kit -- only $19 but worth $136.89!!

Hello, Beautiful!

QVC has come out with a few (I believe) Discovery Kits in the past, but none of them really caught my attention until the most recent, which was only $19 and sold out in a matter of minutes (at least during the presentation I watched). For just $19 with free shipping you get 6 items, all being deluxe sample sizes except two are full size (even though the It Cosmetics Brow Power looks mini size, it's really a full size if you compare the ounces to the full sized version). Check out everything in this QVC Discovery Kit, along with my mini reviews, after the pics!

Believe it or not, this kit -- which I paid just $19 for -- is worth $136.89!

QVC Discovery Kit

QVC Discovery Kit Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $19.00 (for this particular discovery kit). Available on the QVC website - although at this particular time, this particular discovery kit is sold out. For reference, this is item # A258156
My Rating: 5 out of 5 Kisses!

Product Info...

Whether you're new to QVC Beauty or already a devotee, this discovery kit is the perfect way to try some of their hottest products. Featuring six sensational samples for skin, hair, and beyond, this set introduces you to advanced formulas from Philosophy, Perricone MD, and other top brands.

Includes:
  • Perricone MD Neuropeptide Facial Cream (0.5 fl oz sample size)
  • WEN by Chaz Den Cucumber Aloe Cleansing Conditioner (2 fl oz sample size)
  • Philosophy The Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-Aging Moisturizer (1 fl oz sample size)
  • Vita Liberata Tan Mousse in Medium (0.84 fl oz sample size) and a mini mitt
  • It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil (0.0056 oz sample size)
  • Mally Beauty High Shine Liquid Lipstick - you either got the shade Baby or Starburst (0.12 oz full size)

My Review...

First, let's just talk a second about the insane value that was this QVC Discovery Kit! I know I mentioned this several times in this post already, but I paid ONLY $19 for this kit and it has a value of $136.89!!! This has got to be one of the best, if not the best, value sample beauty packs (or whatever you want to call it) that I've ever received.

Let's start with the Mally High Shine Liquid Lipstick... I received the shade Starburst, but you could have gotten one of two shades - either Starburst or Baby (and I believe it may be called Mally's Baby, to be technical). I already own both those shades, but if you don't already then this kit alone is worth it just for that one item - which retails for $20 on its own! Plus, I love the shade Starburst and I love her High Shine Liquid Lipstick. I could have been a makeup hoarder and kept this myself, especially since it is full size, but I ended up giving it away to a friend who I know will put it to very good use.

The It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil is something I already own two of, and actually maybe three of. I don't reach for it often because I like the finer tip that that Anastasia Brow Wiz offers, but it is a good brow pencil. I thought this was a mini size, just by looks, even though Lisa during the presentation on QVC said it was full size. I just thought she messed up, but it is in fact a full size if you compare the ounces of product to the full size version. That alone is a $24 value - again, worth the entire price of this kit if you just want the brow pencil.

The Philosophy Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-Aging Moisturizer is a great sample size - you get an entire ounce! That's worth $30 right there! I used to use this moisturizer religiously way back in the day when my son was just an infant (and even before then), but as a beauty blogger I try many products and just never got back to it. I'm happy to have a new jar of it and absolutely will be using this moisturizer!

I'm really excited to try the Perricone MD Neuropeptide Facial Cream. I hear so much about it on QVC, but the full size comes at a luxury price tag of $240! This sample jar, while it may look small at just 0.5 oz, is actually worth $48! You better believe I'm going to use this jar until there isn't a drop left!

The Vita Liberata Tan Mousse in Medium is something I may or may not actually get around to trying. I had gotten a Vita Liberata Tan Lotion in my March Ipsy bag and still haven't gotten around to trying it (and it's June). I like self tanners, but I've been hooked on Tarte's!

The final item in this QVC Discovery Kit is the WEN Cucumber Aloe Cleansing Conditioner. It's a 2 oz packet - which is great for travel or even for trial. You can buy 8 of these same size packets for $33 on the QVC website. It's definitely just a single use if you're someone like me with long hair, but if you have short hair you may get 2 uses out of it. I used to be big into using WEN but just didn't have time for that, as it's just unrealistic in my everyday life -- only because when I use WEN, I like to really use it properly and let it sit in my hair for about 20 minutes, and that's after taking a full minute to rinse my hair before using it, then taking another 2 or 3 minutes massaging it in really good and combing it through, plus the time it takes to rinse it out. Let's just say for me, WEN is a 30 minute process. It certainly doesn't have to be -- you could do a quick version and get it done in about 5 to 10 minutes -- but I wasn't going to spend all that money on WEN and not do it right. For what WEN I have left in bottles, and now in this packet, I will use it maybe once a week when I have the time. I really do like WEN though; it gives me shiny, bouncy, soft hair and I can go at least 3 days without needing to wash my hair and at least 2 days, maybe 3 days, without using any dry shampoo!

Final Thoughts...

I wish I would have bought 5 of these kits. Not just to hoard up products for myself because of the amazing value, but to give them to friends. This kit was an insane value and I hope QVC continues to come out with great Discovery Kits like this in the future. I'll be sure to buy them (at least 2 for now on), whenever I see them online or on-air. I'd recommend!

Lorac Pro Palette 2 - pics, swatches & mini review!

Hello, Beautiful!

For whatever reason I never purchased the original Lorac Pro Palette; with all the neutral palettes I already own it seemed to be another one I didn't need (but did want - and may still buy it). Yet, when the Lorac Pro Palette 2 came out, I couldn't wait to get it. AND I do love the palette. Great quality shadows, amazing pigmentation too. The palette includes 16 shades; 8 mattes and 8 shimmer/satin finishes. My favorite is for sure Chrome - it's my idea of a perfect all-over lid shade for a sultry eye. Plus you can play that shade up or down depending on what other shades in the palette you use with it (and placement of it).

I haven't had this palette long, but I can tell this will be well used. Check out all the product info, along with a mini review, after the pics!

Lorac Pro Palette 2
Shades: Buff, Lt. Brown, Cool Gray, Nectar, Plum, Navy, Charcoal, Black, Snow, Beige, Rose, Mocha, Chrome, Silver, Jade, Cocoa
Continue scrolling down to see more pics of each individual shade.

Lorac Pro Palette 2 Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $42.00 (for palette - 0.32oz - and mini primer 0.19 oz). Exclusively available at Ulta for right now, then also eventually on the Lorac website and everywhere else Lorac is sold.
My Rating: 5 out of 5 Kisses (so far!)

Product Info...

Go pro with the Lorac Pro Palette 2! The sequel to their original, best-selling Pro Palette and created by celebrity makeup artist Carol Shaw, this Pro artistry palette is packed with 8 shimmer and 8 matte eye shadows in all the cool shades you need to create the hottest look straight from the red carpet. Lorac's velvety-smooth shadows are infused soothing botanicals and are ultra-pigmented to perform wet or dry so you can shade, shadow, line and define your eyes, just like a pro.

Contains 16 eyeshadows and a mini Behind The Scenes Eye Primer for stay-true color that lasts, a pro must-have! Valued at $111

My Review...

I still need to play around with this palette, so this will only be a mini review --- more of a first impressions. The textures are wonderful - both the matte and shimmers!

I initially wasn't going to get this palette because the plum, navy and green shades are not my thing - but they're actually very beautiful in person and although I may not work with them much (if ever - in particular the green shade, Jade), the rest of the colors in the palette more than make up for the one to three shades I may never use. So far, I'm in love with the Chrome shade!

I figured out a favorite combo so far from this palette....

I use Chrome all over my lid, then use Cool Gray in the crease with Buff as a brow bone shade blending down and blending out the crease shade edges. Then I take Black and apply that on the outer top lash line, just enough to smoke that outer corner out a bit. I use Beige as an inner corner highlight. Then all I did was add some liquid liner, mascara and I was done! I fell in love with the combo because it really is my style of an everyday eye. I know a lot of people like to wear more of beige or champagne shades as an "everyday" eye, but Chrome is my lover of this palette!

I plan to use it as much as possible over the next two weeks to see how many looks I can come up with using just these shadows, and then incorporating shadows from other palettes and brands. I'm sure these would look stunning with some Tarina Tarantino glitters on top!

I'll maybe do some updated posts/looks on Instagram - so follow me there. My Instagram name is ValentineKissesBeauty

Ipsy - June 2014 - pics, value break-down and mini reviews!

Hello, Beautiful!

This is my June 2014 Ipsy bag! Check out below to see what I received, a little about each product and my thoughts, as well as a break-down of the value of this month's bag! Spoiler Alert: This was my least favorite Ipsy bag ever and I'll explain why in the review.

Ipsy is just $10 a month! Each month you'll receive 4 to 6 deluxe or even full-sized products. If you want to sign-up for your own Ipsy bag, CLICK HERE (it's my referral link - you don't have to use my referral link; it only gives me points that I can save up to redeem for prizes in the future).

June 2014 Ipsy Bag

Shipment Quick Stats:

  • Value of this month's Ipsy Bag: $34.42 (value is approximate & does not include value of actual bag)
  • Total # of Items Received: 5
  • # of FULL SIZED items: 3
  • # of makeup items: 3
  • # of nail items: 0
  • # of hair care items: 1
  • # of skin care items: 0
  • # of body care items: 0
  • # of fragrance items: 1

Now I'll talk about each product...

Be A Bombshell Cosmetics - Lash Out Mascara
Shade:
  • MY THOUGHTS: I already love the original Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Mascara, which I've reviewed here on my blog in the past; CLICK HERE to see that review (includes before & after pics). So I was excited to see a new version, and excited to give this one a try.
  • FULL SIZE: 0.25 oz @ $15.00
  • SIZE I RECEIVED: full size
  • VALUE: $15.00

NYX Butter Gloss
Shade: Creme Brulee
  • MY THOUGHTS: I already have some, and like the NYX Butter Glosses, so receiving one in my Ipsy bag meant I already new I would like one product. I just didn't know what shade I'd get. Although I will admit I had purchased a bunch of these and ended up selling them in my blog sale because I never reached for them more than swatching; but kept one (Strawberry Parfait). The shade I got in my Ipsy bag, Creme Brulee, was one I had so getting it again means I'll probably keep this one unless I again don't reach for it.
  • FULL SIZE: 0.23 oz @ $4.99
  • SIZE I RECEIVED: full size
  • VALUE: $4.99

Marc Anthony - Dream Waves Beach Spray
  • MY THOUGHTS: I like beach/wave sprays because if they work, they are an easy way to give your hair an effortless look and they usually smell great too. I've tried several beach/wave sprays over the years and only really loved one (which got reformulated and the new version isn't as good; it was by Frederick Fekkai), but have found some I liked over the years as well as some that were really no good.
  • FULL SIZE: 4.2 oz @ $8.99
  • SIZE I RECEIVED: 1.52 oz
  • VALUE: $3.25

OFRA Universal Eyebrow Pencil
  • MY THOUGHTS: I actually just got this exact same eyebrow pencil in my June 2014 Wantable box! I did try that one out and it's actually not bad. The color is a decent match for me, although not really sure how universal it would be. I do find it's a bit waxy though, almost too waxy for the summer time where I feel like waxy formula pencils can feel sticky/tacky and melty on the brows. I still prefer my Anastasia Brow Wiz in Medium Ash (now being re-named to Medium Brown, at least according to Sephora's website) over any other brow pencil ever, but that's not to say I wouldn't use this one from OFRA. It's just not my holy grail brow pencil.
  • FULL SIZE: 1 oz @ $10.00
  • SIZE I RECEIVED: full size
  • VALUE: $10.00

Realtree For Her
  • MY THOUGHTS: Ugh - a fragrance!!!! I'm not a perfume person, although I have a few full sized bottles and way too many sample vials. I feel like anytime I get a perfume in a subscription box it's like a slap in the face. Sure, this one isn't one of the tiny sample vials but it's still not a high value sample; hardly worth more than $1.00. Plus, if you're not a fragrance person this is pretty useless. On top of the scent giving me a headache (it actually is a nice scent but too strong for me), it leaked all over. Thankfully this was packaged in its own zip top baggie or it would have ruined everything. A lot of the writing came off of this so I wasn't sure of the size, but Ipsy lists it on their website as 0.16 oz - which is what I used to determine. This was a major fail in my Ipsy bag and the first major disappointment from Ipsy. Please Ipsy, no more perfume for me - you're giving me a headache... literally!
  • FULL SIZE: 3.4 oz @ $24.99
  • SIZE I RECEIVED: 0.16 oz
  • VALUE: $1.18

The actual bag everything comes in...
my thoughts:
  • It's okay... nothing special. No real thoughts.

My Thoughts On The Entire Bag...
  • FULL SIZE/DELUXE SIZE: This bag contained 3 full sized items and 2 deluxe sized items.
  • VALUE: The value was approximately $34.42
  • USAGE: I will use the mascara, lip gloss, and try out the beach wave spray. The eyebrow pencil will either be used as a back-up or given to my nieces. The perfume vial, because of the leakage, is going straight to the trash - even though I originally thought I'd keep it in my perfume vials jars. Oh well, not a huge loss on that.
  • FINAL THOUGHTS: This wasn't my favorite month from Ipsy - in fact, it may be my absolute LEAST favorite month EVER. The value was relatively low for an Ipsy bag; sure you only spend $10 so anything above that is a value - but typically my Ipsy bags have been around $50 or more. I think one of the lowest was $40 value, so for this to be $34 value this is pretty low. I got a perfume sample vial, which was my least favorite product and threw in the trash because of the leakage. I got a repeat product (the brow pencil) - which was in another subscription box (but that's bound to happen when you have multiple beauty subscription boxes, so not an Ipsy issue; had I not had this before I probably would have been excited about it). The NYX Butter Gloss is something I already had - including the same shade (would have loved a new shade). The beach wave spray is just okay - nothing I'm excited about, but something I'll give a try. The mascara was the only item I was truly excited to try and considering that's $15 on its own, I still got a deal. Overall, it was certainly not a favorite and one that makes me worry if future bags will be bad. I certainly know what Ipsy can do, so I won't give up on them over one bag. Looking forward to a better bag in July!

Wantable Beauty Box - June 2014 - pics, value breakdown and mini reviews!

Hello, Beautiful!

This is my June 2014 Wantable Beauty Box! Wantable is a monthly subscription service (you can also buy a one-time box) that gives you 4 to 5 FULL SIZED beauty products every month! They also have an accessories box and an intimates box. Of course being the makeup hoarder I am, I go for the Beauty Box! Check out everything in my box below!

If you remember back to a year ago, I used to subscribe to Wantable's Beauty Box. I had received two boxes in April (one for promotional consideration and one when I signed up for my own subscription), and then a box in May and a box in June (all in 2013). I continued my subscription through October 2013, although I didn't make any more blog posts because I honestly kept forgetting! But I did make an Instagram post for my September 2013 box and my October 2013 box.

When I first was subscribed to Wantable, I received more items in my box than I did at the end of my subscription. I would get between 6 and 9 items in each box (and they used to say between 4 and 6 full sized items; now it's between 4 and 5), including little samples, but would always be at least 5 full sized items. But then it became less and less - which is ultimately why I cancelled my subscription. My September box included only 4 full sized items and one sample, and then my October box only included 4 full sized items and one foil sample packet. I ended up returning my September box and wanted to return my October box as well (that damn foil sample packet made me so mad considering there were only 4 items in the box), but forgot to return the October box. However, I did cancel my subscription after that box. In all fairness, they do say you get 4 to 6 full sized items, so why I complained when I only got 4 items I don't know. Maybe I was just spoiled by the amount I had previously gotten. It also wasn't just the amount of items; I had gotten items that just weren't my style or items I already had.

The reason I re-subscribed was because I had a $10 credit to use (making it $26 for this month's box) and Melissa Raymond, aka Melmphs (CLICK HERE to go to her YouTube channel, she is a great personality to watch), helped to curate the June 2014 Wantable Beauty Box! I was hoping to get the Tarina Tarantino Blush, but didn't get that want. BUT I ended up being really pleased with this month's box anyway, so I am considering keeping the Wantable subscription again!

If you want to sign up for Wantable just click here or follow the link below (it's my referral link). You can sign up without subscribing, just so you have an account waiting for you in case you ever want to start your subscription or buy a one-time box! Sign-up link: https://www.wantable.com/invite/wpHSNqQgXOs

It's $36 a month with free shipping (as a subscription), or you can purchase a one-time only box for $40 in case you're not sure you want to fully commit. But with their happiness guarantee, there really is no reason to not go for the subscription! If for any reason you're not happy you can send it back for a full refund; they even include a pre-paid return label! Plus, you can skip a shipment or cancel anytime. It really is hassle-free and worry-free, so why not try it out for a month or two (I always give subscription services three months before I decide to stay or go). And they have a nice customization survey where you'll Love, Like, Or Dislike products so you'll get the most customized box possible. What's best about that is you'll never receive something you say you Dislike and you're more likely to receive products you say you Love! They even go into detail with shades and formulations. It's the most customized subscription boxes I ever tried!

Now I'll talk about each product...

Vincent Longo - Pressed Face Powder
Shade: Golden Sienna
  • MY THOUGHTS: I like the Vincent Longo brand, I just don't have many products from the line. When I saw that I received a full sized face powder I was really excited. This is a setting powder that helps absorb surface oils and helps you maintain a smooth, matte canvas throughout the day. Even though there are shade selections, it blends to an almost invisible finish. The shade I received, Golden Sienna, works perfectly. They offer one shade lighter and two shades darker. Wantable got my shade perfect. And I have to say, this powder feels so luxe! It is so soft and silky smooth; it feels great on the skin and looks flawless too. I haven't been using it long - I only got to use it about 3 or 4 times - but so far I'm really loving it!
  • FULL SIZE VALUE: $28.00

OFRA Universal Eyebrow Pencil
  • MY THOUGHTS: I love brow products and had never tried an Ofra product, so was excited to give this a try. I find the color match to be decent, although honestly I don't think it would be the most universal for every single person. What I like and dislike is how waxy this pencil is. I like it because it helps to keep hairs in place but I don't like to use waxy pencils in warmer weather. I find they just are a bit too sticky/tacky and melty (if that makes sense). It had okay staying power, but I did notice it missing in spots from either touching my brow or maybe just wearing off (not sure). I only tested this out one time so I'll have to give it a few more tries but so far, it's not terrible. It's just not something I've reached for since getting it. My holy grail is still the Anastasia Brow Wiz in the shade Medium Ash.
  • FULL SIZE VALUE: $10.00

Glam Natural Mascara
Shade: black
  • MY THOUGHTS: I actually never heard of this brand, so excited to get a new-to-me brand to try out. The price tag on this is steep for a mascara, so I hope it does great things. I haven't had the chance to try it out yet because I have a few mascaras I'm already using, but I usually break my own rules and end up trying it out sooner than I should. Looking forward to trying this one out!
  • FULL SIZE VALUE: $28.00

Eddie Funkhouser Chromographic Lip Color
Shade: Kiki
  • MY THOUGHTS: I have been more of a lipstick wearer this past year compared to previous years, where I was normally a gloss girl. But this shade, Kiki, is GORGEOUS. It's a coral pink that's very wearable for everyday, yet not a nude. It's just bright enough to give your face some life, but not so bright that's it's screaming in your face. It has great pigmentation and goes on really smooth. I don't find it to be the most hydrating formulation,so I use a lip balm under or over it to get the most comfortable wear. I looked at some of their other shades online and I'm dying to try the shade Strip Search, Epic and Skinny Dip. However, I did see they have a Hyperreal Nourishing Lip Color, which is basically the same lipstick (intense pigmentation) but also with a boost of hydration. While that formulation sounds better, the shades aren't there like they are with the Chromographic Lip Colors. But I'd still try the shade Model Citizen from the Hyperreal line. What I love most is these aren't super expensive, so at $11.99 you can afford to try a few!
  • FULL SIZE VALUE: $11.99

Mirabella Eye Definer
Shade: Foil
  • MY THOUGHTS: I like the brand Mirabella; they make some of my favorite lipsticks - their Color Vinyl Lipstick (specifically the shade Rosy Rouge is A-MAZING!), their La La Velvet Lip Pencils are fun, their Sparkle Glitter Glaze is a must for me, and I love their Magic Marker Eyeliner. This eyeliner has a great formula, but I honestly don't know how much I'll actually use it. The color is a charcoal gray type shade and I while I love grays, I don't wear gray eyeliner. I'll probably use this as a base for a smoky eye look or something (I'll find a use) but I would have loved this in just a black shade.
  • FULL SIZE VALUE: $19.00

My Thoughts On The Entire Box...
  • VALUE: The value was $96.99
  • USAGE: I already have used the Vincent Longo face powder and that's honestly my favorite product in the entire box! My second favorite is the Eddie Funkhouser lipstick - which I'm just loving the shade! I'll use the mascara eventually (can't wait to try it), and although I have tried the Ofra brow pencil, I'm just not sure I'll reach for it often. The only item in the box I probably won't use for a long while, if anything more than some swatches here and there, is the Mirabella Eye Definer. There are only so many pencil eye liners a girl can go through in a lifetime and if you took a peek into my eyeliner drawers (that's right, I have two - and one is just for pencil liners), you'd see I have way too many (and that was after purging about 20 to 30 liners)
  • FINAL THOUGHTS: Do I feel like I got a good value in this months box? Yes, I do! I only paid $26 because I had a $10 credit (thank you to Rynda H. for purchasing a box/subscription!). That means I got $70.99 in FREE product (it's like purchasing all these products for around 75% off). Even if I had paid the full $36 I still think this months box was a great value. I've had higher value boxes in the past from Wantable and also lower valued boxes, so this one fits right in the middle. I certainly received two products I already love, one that was okay and two I still need to test out. I think I'll give Wantable another month or two and see if I want to keep this subscription or not. It's pricey, and with me being on a tight budget I need to make every penny count. But I like that with Wantable I can get a refund if I don't like my box and that's the only reason I'll give this one a try time and time again. If I don't like 75% of the box, I will return it.

Milani Limited Edition (matte) Baked Bronzers - Sienna & Sunset - pics, swatches, review

Hello, Beautiful!

Milani already has a line of baked bronzers, but they recently released two new shades - which both happen to be matte! Just like their new matte baked blushes, their new matte baked bronzers are a hit! I actually already posted these on Instagram about a week ago (if you don't already follow me there, I'd love if you did; my Instagram name is ValentineKissesBeauty). The texture of these bronzers are divine and they're very blendable. I just wish there were more shades and that they were not limited edition. The two shades are 08 Sunset and 07 Sienna. Check out all the product info, along with my full review, after the pics!

** These are already sold out on the Milani website, but they sometimes re-stock the website (just keep checking). The only other place you can find these are in select Walgreen stores. If you want these, you need to act fast!

Milani Limited Edition Baked Bronzer Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $8.99 (0.25 oz full size). Available only on the Milani website and at select Walgreens.
My Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Kisses!

Product Info...

This multi-purpose bronzing powder is the perfect backdrop for a shimmery eye or blush. The finish is matte, yet luminous and makes you look beautifully bronzed. Mirror and brush applicator included. Made in Italy.

My Review...

I love Milani's baked blushes, especially their new matte shades, so I was pretty sure I'd love their baked bronzers; and I was right! These have a divine texture - very silky smooth, velvety, and soft to the touch. They blend beautifully too.

Even though these are matte shades, they're not a flat or muddy matte. Just like the product description says, they have a luminosity about them that leaves your skin looking healthy, not dull.

The shade numbers are a bit confusing, as usually the higher number shade would be darker, but in this case the higher number shade - 08 Sunset - is the lighter of the two.

There isn't much difference between them at first glance, and even swatched on white paper there is little difference. Where I saw the biggest difference was on my face. Shade 08 Sunset is definitely my favorite to use as a straight up bronzer, but shade 07 Sienna I can use for a contour shade.

The texture and application get a 5 out of 5 Kisses from me without hesitation. My only complaint would be the colors; to me there is something slightly wrong with the tones; maybe just a touch too orange - although it doesn't come off as orange on the skin.

The shade 08 Sunset gives me a golden glow all over without looking overly bronzed, and I think it will be a great shade for those that are fair to light-medium skintones. The shade 07 Sienna may show up too orange on very fair skintones, but will work best for those with darker light to tan skintones. For some, they will be able to use Sienna as a contour shade. They also work as crease colors for your eyes!

Final Thoughts...

For a drugstore bronzer, this is a phenomenal formula and I love that Milani has come out with some matte shades of their Baked Bronzer. I just wish they weren't limited edition, because they are hard to find (as these only launched in select Walgreens and on their website). I say if you want a drugstore bronzer, this is one to look into if you can get your hands on it.
