John Frieda Frizz-Ease Styling Products - Secret Weapon, Glossing Mist, Styling Mousse - pics, swatches, reviews

Hello, Beautiful!

I've been a long-time fan of John Frieda; I think it's one of the better drugstore line of hair products for my hair. I love the Frizz-Ease line, especially in the summer, and have three Frizz-Ease styling products to share with you in this post: Secret Weapon Finishing Creme (my absolute favorite from the line), 100% Shine Glossing Mist (which I've blogged about in the past) and the Curl Reviver Styling Mousse (which I had a friend test out). Read my reviews below, including all the product info, after each set of pics.

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: About $5 to $7 depending where you shop (4 oz full size). Available at WalMart, Target, Ulta, Walgreens, and drugstores nationwide. Click here to find a retailer near you.
My Rating: 5 out of 5 Kisses!

Exceptional creme, applied to dried hair, instantly transforms puffy, parched hair into a perfectly smooth, supple, shiny texture. Replaces natural oils lost to blow-drying and daily styling stress. Works instantly on dry hair to camouflage imperfections by smoothing away dullness, puffiness, and frayed split ends. Immediately restores "silkening" moisture to "quench" parched hair. Creates ultra-glossy, supple hair with an incredibly healthy-looking finish. Contains a UV filter.

I love this product! I had a mini tube I got forever ago that came with another Frizz-Ease product, when this first launched. I fell in love immediately and just absolutely think it's a must-have for the summer months or anytime you just need that extra something to make your hair look as perfected as possible.

You can see from my before & after pic how it smoothed out my ends and made them look silky smooth, instead of frizzy and frazzled. You don't need a lot either -- which I think can be a common mistake. Start with less than you think you need because you can always add more. I usually use about a pea-size amount, rub between my fingers and apply to my ends, working upwards. I apply more if needed, but usually I don't need much more, if any more.

I super love this product and would highly recommend!

This formula restores bounce to tired waves, ringlets and perms. Special, enriched formula tames frizz and boots shine. Featuring a blend of panthenol and frizz-reducing conditioners, it restores elasticity for springy curls that bounce back. Non-sticky, alcohol free formula that also contains a UV filter.

I have a natural wave to my hair, so I was hoping this would bring that out more. It didn't really do a whole lot for that, but you could still use this on straight hair too. But to really test this out I gave it to a friend with curly hair and she absolutely loved this.

She said it really helped with keeping her curls frizz-free, soft and healthy looking. She would recommend!

Philip Kingsley Preen Cream - pics, swatches, review

Hello, Beautiful!

I've recently discovered a new-to-me hair care brand, Philip Kingsley. I wanted to try out some of his products, as he has been recognized as the leading authority on hair and scalp health. In this post I'll share with you his Preen Cream, which is basically a great product to use on fine or medium hair types to reduce frizz, reduce static and give hair softness & shine. Check out my full review and all the info about the product after the pics!

Philip Kingsley Preen Cream

Philip Kingsley Preen Cream Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $34.00 (3.38 fl oz full size). Available on the Philip Kingsley website.
My Rating: 5 out of 5 Kisses!

Developed to stimulate the effects of duck preening, which leaves each feather smooth and shiny yet protected, Preen Cream smoothes, shines and reduces the appearance of dry ends. Best for fine and medium hair types. Lightweight emulsion with a combination of moisturizers, shine serums, UV protection and antioxidants that protect and condition. Leaves hair shiny, reducing static and frizz.

Contains Babassu Oil - which is very light weight, yet moisturizing, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate - that provides 'feather' like softness, Vitamin E to protect and as an antioxidant, and Emulsified Silicone for shine, condition and manageability.

Use before and/or after styling by rubbing a few drops between your palms and apply to mid-lengths and ends of your hair. Add more as needed.

I'm not really sure why the directions say to add a few drops between your palms, because this is a cream and not an oil where drops would apply - but I guess it does kind of come out in drop-like squirts. Regardless, this is a really nice product that I've been loving to use!

I use this when my hair is damp and my hair comes out really soft, smooth and shiny with hardly any frizz. I have very fine, long hair and this didn't weight it down. It was very lightweight. I couldn't stop touching my hair because it felt so soft and healthy!

The smell isn't too over whelming, but it does have a scent to it. It goes away quickly and really isn't any stronger than other hair products I have - but I do have another Philip Kingsley product which has practically no scent at all. I'm sensitive to smells so at first this smell slightly bothered me, but then again I had it right up to my nose. With normal use this smell doesn't bother me at all.

You can use this when your hair is dry too, which I have done and it works great at eliminating frizz that way as well. But I prefer to use it when my hair is damp, kind of as a last step before I blow dry.

For sure this is a hair product I really have been enjoying to use and one I would recommend - especially to all my fine hair gals!

John Frieda Frizz Ease Glossing Mist & Brilliant Brunette Shine Shock Perfecting Glosser - pics, swatches, reviews

Hello, Beautiful!

I don't put much effort into styling my hair, but one step I almost always do is add some sort of shine/gloss. In this post I'll share with you two great products from John Frieda that will add gorgeous shine to your hair without making your hair look greasy. One of the products is the John Frieda Frizz Ease 100% Shine Glossing Mist. The other product is the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shine Shock Perfecting Glosser. I really like both these products!

John Frieda Frizz Ease
100% Shine Glossing Mist

John Frieda Frizz Ease 100% Shine Glossing Mist Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: About $5.37 to $5.99 depending where you shop (3 fl oz full size). Available at places like Wal-Mart, Target, Ulta, and drugstores. Click here to find a retailer near you, or an online retailer.
My Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Kisses

John Frieda's Frizz Ease 100% Shine Glossing Mist, formerly known as Instant Touch-Up, is all about shine so they've renamed it just that. Use it any time of day to add a super shiny finish to dried, styled hair, while smoothing away pesky frizz and flyaways.

With a new, fresh fragrance, Frizz Ease 100% Shine Glossing Mist adds a sparkling finish to any style. The ultra-light, non-greasy formula delivers a highly reflective shiny finish.

This spray works really nicely to add shine to my hair. I use maybe 1 to 3 sprays total (I have long hair to mid-back) and that's all I need to get a pretty shine. It also helps with frizz and flyaways, which is a nice added bonus. If you want a sleek ponytail look this is a must-have product to give your hair a shiny, frizz-free finish.

An affordable glosser that I recommend!

John Frieda Brilliant Brunette
Shine Shock Leave-On Perfecting Glosser

John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shine Shock Leave-On Perfecting Glosser Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: About $5.50 to $5.99 depending where you shop (2.4 oz full size). Available at places like Wal-Mart, Target, Ulta, and drugstores. Click here to find a retailer near you, or an online retailer.
My Rating: 5 out of 5 Kisses!

John Frieda's Brilliant Brunette Shine Shock Leave-On Perfecting Glosser is the first step in styling brunette hair to help seal in shine and banish flyaways and frizz. The innovative formula with tiny mica particles bring out a dazzling shimmer while illuminating the multi-dimensional tones of brown hair. It also helps to seal split ends so hair looks smooth and flawless from root to tip.

Apply to soaking wet hair to help seal in shine, or can be lightly smoothed over the surface of dried hair for a high-gloss finish.

This product works beautifully in my hair. I apply it to my hair when its wet and style as usual. My hair comes out shiny and smoother. I also like to use this lightly on dry hair (mainly to my ends) to help seal in shine and banish frizz. Love it!

If you have brunette hair I would definitely give this one a try!
