Joey Healy Brow Architect Stylo in Molasses - before & after, swatches, pics, review

Hello, Beautiful!

As someone with sparse brows, I can't tell you how much my makeup routine depends on a good brow product. I've recently tried out the Joey Healy Brow Architect Stylo, which is a retractable waterproof brow pencil. I chose the shade Molasses, which works great for my medium to dark brunette hair.

Check out my pics, swatches, stats, and review... click on pics to view them larger.

Joey Healy Brow Architect Stylo Review:
As someone who needs a brow product to feel like my face is complete, I am constantly trying brow products (powders, pencils, gels, mousse, liquids, etc.). Joey Healy is an eyebrow stylist, professional makeup artist, and licensed esthetician. I figured his brow products had to be good, or at least worth trying, considering he launched his own mobile eyebrow styling division (in late 2009) and then launched the Joey Healy Eyebrow Collection (in 2011).

After trying his Brow Architect Stylo I'm convinced I'd really like the entire line of products! The brow pencil was easy to use, naturally filled in my brows, and looked great all day.

The brow pencil is retractable, which I like because I never have to worry about sharpening. The brow color goes on nicely, although a little waxy -- not overly so, just right waxy. I like it a little waxy because I feel it really clings to my skin and brow hairs. The waxy part of this pencil actually helps to keep the brow hairs in place, and once I run the spooly brush through my brows looks perfectly groomed and tamed.

On me, this brow product lasted all day without issues. Of course since it's currently fall I haven't had a chance to test this in the super summer heat, but so far it's stay-put enough for me. The shade I chose, Molasses, is a great match for my hair color with just the right undertones (some brown shades can have too much red undertone; this one has a neutral undertone).

I'm looking forward to trying more Joey Healy brow products... I'm thinking his Luxe Brow Powder is next on my list!

Overall, this is a brow product - and product line - I'd recommend checking out!

Now let me know what you think...

  1. I agree some brown shades can have too much red undertone. Glad that one doesn't. Infact, the color suits you perfectly. I'm currently using brow powders because it's easier to match with my hair color but I've used pencils before. I just couldn't find a brown brow pencil that matches me. Too red like what you've mentioned. :P I hope this one is available in my country though. :P So that being said, I include this in my wishlist. Haha. :P

  3. OMG your brows are perfect. You have very pretty brows, mine are sparse and messed up, I am just afraid to make mine look harsh with a pencil.
    Great review!
