NOTD: franken called The Goonies

Hello, Beautiful!

Today's NOTD is a franken I made using various polishes and some loose copper hex glitter. I decided to name it "The Goonies", which is named after the movie. The whole thing just reminded me of that movie, and I don't know why. Maybe it was the way the copper glitter looks like it's floating in water and I kept thinking of Chester Copperpot, so I just named it The Goonies. Shown below using two coats over 1 coat of base coat (Essie First Base Base Coat) and 1 coat of top coat (Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat).

Valentine Kisses Franken
Shade: The Goonies
Shade Description: An ocean blue jelly polish with iridescent/rainbow micro glitter, some hidden flakies, and larger copper hex glitter.

Now let me know what you think...
What do you think of this franken? I'm really trying to get better at making them, but I really suck at it, haha. Do you franken? Discuss in the comments below.

  1. In the bottle it looked okay, but on the nail, WOW! It looks gorgeous!

  2. @ Nail Designs xox: Yeah, in the bottle the hex glitter basically stuck to the sides, pretty much hiding the polish inside of it. I too happily surprised with the way it applies and the way the glitter looks.

  5. Love it! Copper and blue is a combo I keep coming back to. You might just have to design a NerdLacquer shade with me! Weird that the copper glitter stacked up on the sides like that...polyester glitters don't usually do that. I assume you've got mixing beads in there?

  8. @ collier: Oh my, Amanda, there is no way I could ever franken with the likes of you! Your frankens are amazing... mine are by accident and without any rhyme or reason, lol.

  9. @ collier: Oh and I forgot to mention, that I don't think there are mixing beads in that one. I don't have extras of them (since I don't franken on a regular basis), but sometimes one of the little beads will fall out of a polish bottle into the franken bottle, lol.
