I'm excited to show you another great Mally product: her Evercolor Poreless Face Defender (the solid version). I had great results and I'm really going crazy for this! Check out my full review at the bottom of this post, after checking out all the pics (I didn't swatch it on my hand because it is completely clear).

A solid "setting powder", although don't you dare say "powder" in Mally's presence! Mallynista's know what I'm talking about! This wonderful product will diffuse the look of pores and fine lines, while giving your skin a smooth, matte finish, all while helping your makeup last just like a setting powder would. Best part is, it's not dry or cakey, and it is completely clear.

Absolutely clear, invisible!

Prolongs your makeup!

No shade choice to choose from in the solid version; just a perfect-for-everyone colorless option.

Mally Evercolor Poreless Face Defender Review:
I've wanted to try this product since the first day I saw it air on QVC. It really intrigued me, but I always was hesitant to purchase it because I honestly didn't think it would work, and I also thought it would just take off my makeup. I am so glad I was able to give this product a try because wow, I love it!
First, let me just say that it does NOT remove your makeup. I was super worried about that because a lot of reviews on QVC said that it took off their makeup. But I'm one to test something out for myself, especially because with a product like this it's easy to use it the wrong way if you don't take a second to read how to apply it correctly --which I'm sure happened in those cases, because I had amazing results when applied correctly.
I was really impressed when the sponge stayed white after applying the Face Defender to my face, over my foundation. There is a method to use it correctly, but it's easy. Just swirl the sponge in the product, then lightly tap the product onto your face. You don't want to rub or drag the product on your face, because then yes, that will take off your makeup. You may also see little balls of the product on your face if you use too much, but they easily blend in or remove, so don't worry if that happens the first time or two that you use this. You'll get a technique down quickly. Applying this product the correct way will give you beautiful, long-lasting results!
I put it to the test on a Thursday, which are the days I volunteer at my son's school. Those are great days for me to test out products because it gets very hot in the copy room and my makeup can migrate throughout the day. I was happy to see my makeup still in its place, thanks to this product.
I am one to always use a setting powder, I've actually been using Mally's Poreless Perfection Skin Finisher most of the time, but I think I really prefer this product. It's totally undetectable on your skin, unlike a powder (even Mally's great powders). It's a product I am happy to own and will use very often.
I would highly recommend checking this product out!

What do you think of this product? Do you own this already, or is this now on your must-try list? Discuss in the comments below.
I really want to try this but the price is always off putting to me. If it were even just $30 I would buy it, so I guess I'll wait until I see it in a kit I like or its on easy pay. Don't ask me why 30 seems better than 40, it just does.:) And I agree with the reviews about it taking peoples makeup off probably using it wrong. I read makeup reviews on Makeup Alley all the time were people trash a product and you can tell by what they say that they don't use it correctly. The funniest one was someone said the Sally Hansen Nail Art pens on horrible because they wash off the second they wash their hands. They obviously didn't read that you need to put a top coat on because they work well enough for me. Now I know that might have sounded really snarky, but its just irritating seeing people give a product a 1 out of 5 because of their own stupidity. The more I write the more I sound like a jerk so I should stop. Thanks for the review, I love Mally products so keep them coming!!:)
ReplyDelete@ sunnydee130: This product is in a few of her Mally kits available on QVC's website. Then I also found it here: http://mallybeauty.com/store/category/collectionskits/face/item/FA0038/beautiful_skin_prep/?redirect=1e10132a3078797cb7e4aee510d54edd
ReplyDeletefor the same price, but with a primer too. Not sure of the sizes though.
And you don't sound like a jerk at all! I share the exact same opinion as you when it comes to people rating a product low when really it comes down to user error. Sure, there are some products that fail, but this is NOT one of them. I have to admit that I was super skeptical about this product... like I was convinced it would not work for me. But when it did work, well, I actually made my husband watch me apply it and then I asked if he could see it on my face.
You know what I need to do, I need to show my face half with a regular setting powder and half with this, then zoom in to show how undetectable this really is!
i don't love it, but it's not like i hate it. it's okai.

ReplyDeleteIt seems an interesting product! And the fact that the sponge remains white is pretty cool!
