Illuminare Cosmetics Beyond Black Everlasting Eye Liner & Eye/Brow Brush -- swatches, pics, review

Hello, Beautiful!

Illuminare Cosmetics is one of my favorite brands of mineral makeup because they make one of the best, if not the very best, full coverage foundations (which I've raved about in the past, and I'll be making a new post to show better photos and a before/after pic). They recently came out with a gel eyeliner and I was really excited to try it out. I'm in love with it! The texture is comparable to Bobbi Brown's gel eyeliner, but I prefer the Illuminare version (and you get more product for your money).

Check out my pics, swatches, stats, and review...

Beyond Black Everlasting Eye Liner
Shade: black
Shade Description: A rich, deep black

The eyeliner is applied to my eyes in the photos below using the Illuminare Eye/Brow brush.
And in case you noticed, my eye color is different in these photos. I sometimes wear color contacts (prescription, not just cosmetic reasons).
The ones I'm wearing are the Freshlook Color Blends in Sterling Gray. I may do a separate post on the contact lenses, in Sterling Gray and Gray (I have both, and may get more colors in the future). Let me know if you'd be interested in seeing a post on colored contacts.

Illuminare Cosmetics Beyond Black Everlasting Eye Liner & Eye/Brow Brush Review:
The Beyond Black Everlasting Eye Liner is my new favorite gel eye liner! It goes on PERFECT. The texture of this gel liner is comparable to the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner, which I own in the shade Black Ink. I liked the Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner very much before trying the Illuminare gel eyeliner. Now I prefer the Illuminare version!

The color of this liner is great too; a richly pigmented black. It looks sharp, but you could of course play around with blending it out to make it more smokey. You do have a little bit of play time before this dries down and sets. Once it does dry down and set, it won't budge! It's crease-proof and waterproof. It will last all day, and then some! Easily removes with waterproof eye makeup remover.

One thing I do want to point out is this is not for your inner rim/waterline, at least it's not for me. It may work for you though. I have problems with liners staying on my inner rim/waterline. I'll see people rave about liners staying on their inner rim/waterline and they just won't work for me. I think the reason this one doesn't work for me is because it's so creamy and rich in texture. Just as I wouldn't apply a liquid liner to my inner rim/waterline, I wouldn't apply this liner there either. I have been using this to my upper lash line now every single day since I received it! I even applied this eyeliner on the days I didn't leave the house, and I usually don't apply makeup on days I don't leave the house (aside from swatching for my blog), but I really loved the way it went on and the way it looked. I guess I'm just really excited over this liner!

The Eye/Brow Brush is a perfect companion for applying this liner. The brush is good quality for the price, and applies the liner perfectly. For me, I can never have too many angled liner brushes so I was more than happy to add this to my brush collection.

Overall, YES, I would absolutely recommend this eyeliner, and the eye/brow brush. You'll be impressed with this gel liner.

Now let me know what you think...
What do you think of the eyeliner and the eye/brow brush? Have you tried either of them or do you want to? And kind of off topic, what do you think of my contact color? Discuss in the comments below.

  1. I dont use them often, only sometimes when I go out. don't really like this kind of eye liner, I prefer those that look like pencil. dont know, probably I'm not too skilful with those brushes so.. I like simple things ;)
