Yesterday I opened up a magazine and saw an ad for Maybelline's new Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm. Being the sucker that I am for new products, I took a trip to Wal-Mart to check them out. I decided to pick up three shades, but I may go back and get the rest because I liked them that much!
Check out my pics, swatches, stats, and review...

Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm
Shade: Cherry Me
Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm
Shade: Peppermint
Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm
Shade: Peach Kiss
Basic stats for Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm:
Formula: stick balm
Coverage: invisible to sheer (depending on shade)
Wear: above average
Shade Info: Currently 6 shades available
Cost/Availability: $2.97 to $3.99 each depending where you shop (0.15 oz full size),. Available at Wal-Mart, Target, Ulta, Maybelline's website, and everywhere else Maybelline cosmetics are sold.
Packaging: lip balm tube; twist-up balm
My Rating: 5 out of 5 Kisses!
Formula:
A clinical strength, very moisturizing, lip balm with SPF 20. Designed to give your lips 8 hour hydration for visibly renewed lips in just 4 weeks. In a 4-week clinical study this balm yielded these results: 82% visibly less dry, 94% less rough lips, 77% more supple, 77% better looking lips. However, I immediately noticed great results and I can't wait to see what happens in 4 weeks!
Coverage:
Invisible to sheer color, depending on the shade you choose. Quenched and Peppermint are clear, invisible shades, while Cherry Me, Peach Kiss, Pink Punch, and Grape Vine give you a sheer wash of color.
Wear:
These balms have above average wear for a balm. They certainly don't last 8 hours without needing to re-apply, but I feel the benefit last beyond when they wear off. I really like to re-apply these balms anyway because they're tasty.
Shade Info:
Currently available in six shades: Quenched, Peppermint, Cherry Me, Peach Kiss, Pink Punch and Grape Vine.
Cost/Availability:
A retail price of $3.99, but I know Wal-Mart sells this balm for $2.97 each. You can find this balm at Wal-Mart, Target, Ulta, Maybelline's website, and everywhere else Maybelline cosmetics are sold.
Packaging:
Lip balm tube with a clear lid that has "BABY LIPS" printed on it. Colorful packaging. Twist-up lip balm.
Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm Review:
I am in LOVE with this balm! I really wasn't sure if I would like it, love it or hate it, but I LOVE it! I have three shades but I really want to get Pink Punch and maybe Quenched (Grape Vine may taste/smell good but the color doesn't really appeal to me). I'm going back to buy another Peppermint to give my son to use (he uses a lip balm now because he gets really chapped lips in the winter, but his lip balm is no where near this good). I may even convince my husband to use one!
These balms moisturize my lips just as wonderfully as the Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment, although they don't provide as nice of color, but it still means I can save money and just buy the Maybelline Baby Lips balm for superior hydration.
Out of the three shades I purchased (Cherry Me, Peppermint, Peach Kiss), my favorite is Cherry Me. I didn't think I would like that one the best because I was scared of how bright red the color looks, but I was very pleased with how the color translates on the lips. It's the type of red I can wear and it's probably the boldest of colors from this line of balms (Grape Vine looks like it may also give more color pay-off than the others).
I not only highly recommend these lip balms, I'm instructing you to go to your local Wal-Mart (or wherever Maybelline is sold) and buy at least one of these! You need this balm in your life. It should be a beauty must-have on everyone's list!

Now let me know what you think...
Do you already own this lip balm? If so, what do you think? If not, will you pick one up? If so, what shade or shades do you want? Discuss in the comments below.
I only use organig lip balm now, and I can tell the difference between a natural lip balm and a "drugstore" one. You should try the Yes To Carrots, those are my favorite!
ReplyDelete@ Molkinaify: I've tried Yes To Carrots, but didn't care for them at all. And the brand Yes To Carrots is a drugstore brand, at least here in the United States it is.
ReplyDeleteI saw these at the store, but was turned off by the name "baby lips" for some reason. I guess I figured these lip balms were targeted toward young girls! But with your raving review, I think I'll go out and get one or two of these.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
@ kurisutiina: I know what you mean! The packaging alone looks more geared towards teens and tweens, but I secretly love the bright colors hehe. The name never crossed my mind as being something for young girls, but I now can see where one would think that.
ReplyDeleteMy instant thought when I read Baby Lips was soft... you know, when people say their skin in soft as a baby's bottom.
Regardless, these balms are incredible! I've been sick and my lips have been super chapped because of that. In the photos showing my lips you can see how they were instantly smoothed out and they've been that way since last night! I can't stop rubbing my lips together today because of how good they feel! :)
This seriously impressed me. I may like it even more than my beloved Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Balm!
The packaging looks so adorable :) I would glady bring them home if i saw them at the store
ReplyDeletecute lippies!!!

ReplyDeletedo you think you could find out when it comes out in England please? could you also find you how much it is going to be in the currency of '£' please?
thank you! please reply! i really want this lip balm! xxx :)
@ ellie!: I'm not sure when or if it will come to England, or what the price would be. I would recommend contacting Maybelline's customer service, as they'll be the best people to give you an answer. You can also try looking for these lip balms on eBay and find a seller who ships worldwide :)
