Benefit Tan About Tan set ($10 at Sephora): swatches, pics, mini review

Hello, Beautiful!

Sephora has another great $10 set from Benefit; click here to check it out or purchase it. This set includes three minis: Some Kind-A Gorgeous in Medium, BADgal Lash, and Hoola. I already have a full-sized Hoola, but wanted a mini to use when I travel. I've always wanted to try the other two products and you get plenty of product to use/try out.

Check out my pics, swatches and mini reviews on each product in this set...

Benefit Tan About Town Set

Includes: Some Kind-A Gorgeous in Medium (0.06 oz), BADgal Lash (0.14 oz), and Hoola (0.1 oz)
Coat/Availability: Just $10 on Sephora's website (not sure if it's in Sephora stores; call your Sephora to check).
My Thoughts: The price is right if you're looking to try out some or all of these products, or looking for mini's to take with you for your makeup bag or travel. However, you have to fall into the right shade category or the Some Kind-A Gorgeous may not work at all for you. Hoola may also be too light for those with darker skintones. So really, if you have tan to deep skintones this set may not work for you. If you're fair it may also not work for you. This set would really works best for those with light to medium skintones. I'm about NC30/NC25 and it works pretty nicely for me.

Benefit BADgal Lash
My Thoughts: This mascara was just okay for me. I liked the rich black color, but this just doesn't have it all for me. It could be great for you; I have a friend who swears by this mascara. It's obviously popular and a best seller for Benefit, but if I had to pick one of their mascaras I'd rather choose They're Real! Mascara, which give my lashes much a better result. The BADgal Lash size included in this kit can be purchased on its own on Sephora's website for $9.00. I know that doesn't make much sense when for $1 more you get two other products, but yeah, it's available for individual sale too. In my before/after pics I used two coats on top and one coat on bottom.

Benefit BADgal Lash Before & After:

Benefit Hoola
My Thoughts: I already have a full sized Hoola, and I love it. I don't really use it so much as a bronzer as much as I use it as a contour shade. I like that it doesn't contain any shimmer, making it a believable contour or bronzer shade. The size included in this kit is valued at $10.00. You can pick up the full sized version for $28 on Sephora's website.

Benefit Some Kind-A Gorgeous
My Thoughts: This was a product I've wanted to try for awhile now and was excited to give it a try. However, I just wasn't impressed. The color was a good match for my skintone but there wasn't enough coverage and I didn't like the way it felt on my face. I don't like a lot of cream foundations though, so that's probably why I didn't like this one. The size in this set is 0.06 oz, which is valued at approx. $5.12. You can pick up a full sized (0.34 oz) version on Sephora's website for $29.00 or a slightly larger sized mini (0.09 oz) for $9.00 on Sephora's website.

  1. This would be the perfect kit for me as I have the Some Kind-A Gorgeous and I love it, and this minisize would be perfect to carry around with me in my purse, I have the Bad Gal in blue and I adore it and I'd like to try the boxes of powder but the full size is too pricey!

  3. @ Molkinaify: The Hoola mini in this set is perfect because you get a lot of product for such a small sample. I used my full sized Hoola all the time and I've barely made a dent in it, so I'm sure this small sized will last and last and last!

@ Sarah S.: Yay! I'm glad to hear that my blog is becoming a go-to for you! If you ever have any product requests just ask :)
