About 1 to 2 years ago I purchased the Dior DiorSkin Forever Extreme Wear Flawless Makeup. I loved it so much that I used it up and bought a second bottle for my lighter, winter skin. But as with most of my makeup, I like to find new products to use so I never finished that second bottle. Then recently I had a $20 off $50 coupon to Sephora and wasn't sure what to use it on. After much browsing, I decided to give the new, updated version of that foundation a try. They now call it the Dior DiorSkin Forever Flawless Perfection Fusion Wear Makeup. This time I picked a new shade, 030 Medium Beige, and it works great with my skintone. I love this foundation the same way as I loved the original version, possibly even more.

My Rating: 5 out of 5 Kisses!
I like that it's quick and easy to get great results. I don't have to set this makeup to know it's going to last, but I of course prefer to set my makeup (I've been using Mally's Evercolor Poreless Face Defender, which is freakin awesome).
Again, it looks very natural on your skin. In the before & after photo I applied this foundation over bare skin; meaning no moisturizer or primer, and my skin is rather dry right now. You can see that even applying it like that ended in natural looking results. It's like my skin, but way better. All I would do in that after photo is apply another light layer on all that hyper pigmentation and I'd be good to go. Honestly though, in real life (aka, non-studio lighting that shows every little flaw), just one layer of this foundation looks great. In fact, I went out with just this foundation (one layer) and a light dusting of Benefit Hello Flawless! (applied with a fluffy brush for sheer coverage) and I felt confident to skip concealer.
Overall, a great foundation in a new and improved formulation. Yes, I would recommend!
Formula:
The original version was one of my favorite liquid foundations, and I'm loving the newer, improved version too! Dior's foundation is infused with Dior's skin-shaping Skincare Essence, so your skin gets benefits with each day you wear this foundation. Blends like a dream and looks very natural. SPF 25, PA +++ (PA refers to Japan's PA protection system which measures the levels of UVA protection that provides superior defense against the rays that cause collagen damage and photo-aging of the skin. Three plus signs represent the highest level of UVA protection).
Coverage:
Medium to full coverage. Easily buildable where you need it and can mix with moisturizer for a sheer application.
Wear:
Long wearing; I find this foundation lasts on me longer than a lot of other liquid foundations, even without a setting powder (and I have oily skin, so that's saying something).
Shade Info:
12 shades available on Sephora's website. I picked 030 - Medium Beige, because in the original version I have 031 and 021. Shade 021 is way too light for me; I don't even know what I was thinking when I purchased that, but I remember having a hell of a time matching my skintone with the original version (I must have exchanged it 3 or 4 times). The next shade down was, 023, would was too peach and a shade below that, 022, was way too pink, so that's why I went with 021 -- which had the right undertones but made me look a little pale on its own so I would mix in some 031 with it or use with a bronzer or something like Smashbox Halo in Medium on top. In the original formula I'm pretty positive shade 030 was not an available shade or I would have chosen that one. However, now in the new formula, 030 works really well with my skintone (which in MAC is about NC30/NC25).
Cost/Availability:
$46 (1 fl oz full size). Available on Sephora's website and in most Sephora retail stores; plus everywhere else Dior cosmetics are sold.
Packaging:
Squared tall bottle with a frosted look. Pull-off cap and a pump-top dispenser.
Dior DiorSkin Forever Flawless Perfection Fusion Wear Makeup Review:
Just like the original version of this foundation, I'm loving the new version because it looks natural and lasts a long time -- even on my oily skin type. The coverage would probably be enough for most people. However, I have lots of flaws to cover so it's more medium coverage to me, but to you it may be full coverage. This foundation is buildable, so I do add a little more on my trouble areas and it layers seamlessly. I get the most coverage from this foundation using a stippling method (which is not the method I used in the before/after pic).

Now let me know what you think...
What do you think of this foundation? Have you tried this new version or maybe the original? Is this a foundation you'd like to try out? Discuss in the comments below.
I have the original Dior Forever foundation in 021 and 031. I have to mix them to get a right match to my MAC NC30/35 skin tone. 021 is too light and 031 is too dark. I'm hoping I don't have to buy 2 different shades in the new formula to get a perfect color match. =) Also, I love the original version because it lasts all day on my combination skin, but the SPF causes a white flash in photos and you have to work fast and blend it because the original formula dries quick.
ReplyDeletei have never tried any Dior foundations, but it seems like a very good one. Great review!
ReplyDelete@ Joyce: The new formula dries quickly too. And I agree with you on the shade selection... I had the hardest time finding a good match so I had to mix shades to get a perfect match. 030 works really well though!
ReplyDelete*Adding another foundation to my must-try list*
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to try this from Dior, well actually ANYTHING from their makeup counter but I have never been able to justify buying it :( Maybe if I ever get a coupon type thing like you.
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to tell you I mentioned your blog in my youtube video from the giveaway I won a while ago, just because I am so thankful for winning! Especially because that was the first time I have ever won anything on a giveaway, but if you wanna check out the video here it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gpahJaqi1g
thanks again :)
I have been really intrigued by this foundation for a while now but I'm not sure how it would work on my dry skin. I might go in to Sephora and get a sample after this review, thanks!
