Halloween Nail Art -- a preview of 33 designs!

Hello, Beautiful!

Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday. I go above and beyond for my son's costumes and as a result he usually wins first place, as well as gets a ton of attention and photos taken. In my little town we're known for the creative costumes... which puts a lot of pressure on me this year! One year my son was a dead head in a freezer (click here to view that costume -- for some reason I can't find the pics I put online, so I linked to where it is on a Halloween site) and last year he was a zombie vending machine (click here to view that costume). This year I have another costume planned (which has been planned since March), but I haven't begun making it yet. I usually wait until the last second to make his costumes... which is stupid considering I have the idea months ahead. I made the dead head in a freezer costume in just over a day... getting no sleep and finishing just a few hours before our trick-or-treat at the mall. The zombie vending machine I finished the day before Halloween, taking a total of 3 days to make it (including building the frame - which my husband did). I also do my husband's makeup for Halloween; one year I made him into a skeleton (I don't have the pics online for some reason) and last year he was "run over by a car". I also go crazy with decorating too -- I have more decorations for Halloween than I do all other holidays combined. I just LOVE Halloween :)

ANYWAY...

Here is just a PREVIEW of the Halloween nail art for this year. Keep in mind these designs are what I consider my "drafts". That means they are not the "official" nail art I want to post, and there are flaws or colors that need to be tweaked. For example, there are some designs that had drag (from top coat), and many had shrinkage from the Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat (I'm going to use something different next time). There are also a lot of issues with just taking time to make it look good.

I did rush through these because it was late and I just wanted to put my ideas onto nails. I only worked on these for 2 and a half hours - which is not a lot of time for nail art, especially 33 designs!

But for now I wanted to give you a sneak preview of just some of the Halloween nail art to come. In total there will be between 40 and 60 designs - from simple dots, to using stamping plates, to hand painting; basically something for everyone to try!

Let me know what you think of them in this "draft" mode! Have a great weekend everyone! Don't forget to enter my 500 Follower Giveaway if you haven't already!

  5. @ thenailaholic: well the year he was the Dead Head in a Freezer we had some difficulty with him walking it in and put some make-shift wheels on it (from those rolling carts) that really didn't work so when they broke (several times, haha) he just kind of shuffled. However, last year we got smart and built the frame on very strong wheels and installed a base. All he had to do was stand in there and we pushed him around. He had it so easy last year! :)

  6. Thanks ladies for all the kind comments on the nail art and my son's costumes!! :)

I hope to make my official Halloween nail art posts within the next week or so. I can't wait to show you the other designs I haven't yet shown you. There are some really cute and simple designs and even some more complicated and creepy designs. I've already started to test them out on the neighborhood kids -- those "fuzz ball monsters" (the first 4 designs) seem to be the most popular with the kids (4th grade and under, that is).

And, I have some Jason Mraz inspired nail art coming soon too! :)

    Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
