Kryolan Shades Eyeshadow Palette in Casablanca - pics, swatches, review

Hello, Beautiful!

Several years ago when I had my photography studio (back in 2008 to 2011), I worked with many makeup artists - which opened my eyes to more brands that I hadn't heard of, including the brand Kryolan. Kryolan makes fantastic makeup, not just for photoshoots and theatrical purposes, but for everyday use too. I recently tried out one of their Shades palettes - which are 5-color eyeshadow palettes. I have the shade Casablanca, which is a great neutral palette - but many other shades are available. Check out my full review, and all the product info, after the pics.

My Rating: 4 out of 5 Kisses

Kryolan Shades Palettes are eye shadows in an elegant mirror palette with 5 colors. The exceptional formulation of these creamy pressed powder shadows ensures a gentle application and soft feeling on the skin. Long lasting. Apply over a primer - such as the Kryolan Eye Shadow Primer - for best intensity and longest wear.

Currently available in 17 Shades palettes on the Kryolan website - but I think 6 are newer (Casablanca, Florence, Dubai, Cape Town, Buenos Aires, and Mustcat). I have the palette Casablanca - which is a great set of neutrals. The first and last shades in the palette are more satin mattes, where as the middle three shades are more satin metallics.

They do have nice pigmentation on their own and I found that using over primer didn't make a huge difference in the way the shades looked, but I may need to try another primer to get more of a pop (I had used Benefit's Stay Don't Stray under them, which I don't think is the best for making shadows pop).

The shadows themselves are creamy and soft, and blend beautifully. I really like all the shades in the palette, but my favorite shades are the middle three shades. I would like to try other Shades Palettes - like Berlin, Florence, Muscat, and Paris. And for fun, I'd love Rio and Dubai.

This palette comes with a brush - which is actually useable - but I still use my own makeup brushes to apply these shadows. The mirror in the palette is great for travel.

Overall, I liked this shadow palette and would recommend.
