It's taken me long enough, but I finally tried the Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder! This oil-absorbing powder has a cult following, and many people swear by it. I have oily skin, especially in the summer, so I couldn't wait to try this out and review it here on my blog. Check out my full review below, including all the product info, after the pics.

My Rating: 5 out of 5 Kisses
Up to 5 hours natural shine control with natural minerals. An oil-absorbing pressed powder that leaves you with a flawless, shine-free complexion. Helps minimize the appearance of pores. Dermatologically tested. Available in several shades - including translucent.
This powder has a cult following, and for some reason I've waited up until recently to try this out. The shade I have 018 Creamy Beige, works okay with my skintone; maybe a little too deep/red in undertone - so I plan to try the translucent shade out.
It does a nice job at mattifying the skin and controlling oil for several hours. I really have no complaints, other than the shade not being a spot on match for me - but that's easy to fix. I'd recommend to anyone who gets oily or is oily.

What type of brush/sponge did you apply this with?
ReplyDeleteThank you! (:
@ Anonymous: For the swatch photos in this blog post I just used my fingers to swatch and blend out, but on my face I use a powder brush. Any fluffy face powder or even blush brush works. If you want more heavy duty coverage you could use a puff and press/roll it onto the skin.
ReplyDeletei used this until it was completely gone, same shade too. I found it fantastic , but I have eczema on my nose and it made it too noticeable. I use NP Set pressed powder now and its wonderful too. But for value I would recommend Rimmel to anyone who doesn't have a dry skin problem like me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the response back! I'm definitely going to try this out! Keep up the good work! I'm a daily follower :)
ReplyDeleteIf you start to break out, this might be because of this powder. I started using this powder and about a week after, I started to break out all over the side of my face. I was really disapointed.
ReplyDeleteGreat review by the way

@ Sabrina: i've heard a few people have some break out issues with this powder. I haven't yet but I do have adult acne that is pretty much all hormonal - I have a hormone imbalance and when my stress is down my skin clears up and when I stress it breaks out badly. I rarely have reactions specifically to products but I'll keep an eye out. Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteI have used this powder for years in the Silky Beige color and love it! I compare it to the Double Matte from the Estee Lauder line.
