OPI - Crown Me Already! from the Miss Universe Collection

Hello, Beautiful!

I think I may have found my new favorite silver polish... OPI's Crown Me Already! from the Miss Universe collection. This silver glitter polish is just beautiful, especially in person. I almost didn't even want this because I thought 'eh, just another silver glitter' but it's not; it stands out! I should also mention that my husband bought this for me (along with OPI's Swimsuit...Nailed It!) as my "flowers" to apologize for being a jackass. He knows I would much prefer nail polish over flowers and I love him for that. It's a pretty way to say I'm sorry. Of course I forgave him :)

Anyhow...
Crown Me Already! is a brighter, clearer, more true silver. The way light hits your nails is just stunning. The pictures really do NOT do this shade any justice. In the bottle this shade is pretty but on the nails this shade is beautiful!

I used 3 coats for all the photos below, but I probably could have used just 2 coats. I was apply this in a room with low-lighting so I couldn't tell how opaque it was, since I have some staining on my nails I just went ahead and did a third coat for good measure. I should also mention that this shade dries extremely quick, but then again most glitters do.

OPI - Crown Me Already! (NL U02)
[From the Miss Universe collection.]
Shade Description: Super micro silver hex glitter in a clear base with small, medium and large silver hex glitter. Opaque in just 2 to 3 coats.
# of Coats & Other Polishes: 1 coat of Nail-Aid 3 Minute Artificials (as my base coat), 3 coats of OPI's Crown Me Already!, 1 coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

I Wear Pink On Wednesdays: H&M + Revlon + Urban Decay + China Glaze

Hello, Beautiful!

This past Saturday I posted a Fall Watercolor Feathers NOTD, which I loved so much that I kept it on until Monday morning (and for me, that's a long time since I normall change my nails daily). I thought for my Pink Wednesday post that I'd do the same design, but using pink shades (plus a hint of gold).

Well I did it, but I didn't like the results. All the shades of pink get lost with each other and it just looks like a blob of pink instead of a feather-like design. Maybe if I planned out the colors a little better I would have gotten a better result. Needless to say, this mani was removed right after I took these photos and I re-painted my nails with OPI's Crown Me Already! from the Miss Universe collection (pics of that polish on my nails will be posted very soon). I mean, it's not a terrible mani, but it's my least favorite Pink Wednesday mani that I've done so far.

Just in case you want to re-create this mani, here's what I did:
  • 1 coat of Essie's First Base base coat
  • 2 coats of Revlon's Top Speed polish in Pink -- painted on just the ring and thumb nails
  • 2 coats of H&M polish in Coral - applied to the pointer, middle and pinky nails
  • 1 coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat to all nails
  • Using a striping brush, create the feather design on your ring and thumb nails. Read over my Fall Watercolor Feather NOTD post for more details on how to create the feather design. Polishes used for the feather design: H&M - Coral, H&M - Berry, Urban Decay - Big Bang, China Glaze - Midnight Kiss
  • 1 coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat on ring and thumb nails

Mally Eye Amplifying Shadow Liner in Chestnut - pics, swatches, review

Hello, Beautiful!

I received the Mally Eye Amplifying Shadow Liner in the shade Chestnut in a recent Mally kit from QVC. The shade, which is a shimmery brown, is very pretty but not a shade I typically wear. However, I really liked the formula and the product!

Check out my pics, swatches, stats, and review...

Mally Eye Amplifying Shadow Liner
Shade: Chestnut
Shade Description: A shimmery rich brown.

Basic stats for Mally's Eye Amplifying Shadow Liner:
Formula: creamy pencil
Coverage: buildable; richly pigmented
Wear: long-wearing
Shade Range: currently only available in five shades
Container: a duo-ended chubby pencil; pull-off lids; color on one end, smudger on the other end
Cost: $31.82 for a set of two
Availability: find on QVC's website
My Rating: 5 out 5 Kisses

Formula:
This is a super creamy chubby pencil; it glides on so beautifully. You can use it as a liner shade if you like the thicker liner look that is slightly smudged/smoked out, or you can use it all over the lids as an eyeshadow. Once set it won't budge!

Coverage:
You can control the coverage to a point, but it is highly pigmented so it's harder to make it sheer.

Wear:
As with most of Mally's eye products, this is long-wearing. Once it sets it's not going anywhere until you take it off!

Shade Range:
Currently there are only four shades available for individual purchase, and they're sold in sets of two, plus this Chestnut shade that I received in a Mally kit. There may be other shades in other Mally kits, but I didn't check into that.

Container:
This is a duo-ended chubby eyeliner type pencil. On one end there is the creamy color for your eyes and on the other end there is a smudger. Both sides have a pull-off cap.

Cost/Availability:
This shade is not yet available for individual purchase, but you can pick up a set of two on QVC's website for $31.82.

Mally Eye Amplifying Shadow Liner Review:
I really, really like this product. I'm not a fan of the shade Chestnut, only because I don't personally like to wear brown tones. However, I do think the shade Chestnut is a beautiful rich brown shade that will look great on everyone no matter what skin or eye color you may have. I would like to try the shade Stone!

I was very happy with the way the color glided on; it was like silk. Very easy to apply and once it's set it won't budge - but that's how most of Mally's products are designed to work.

Overall I would recommend checking these out if you're looking for a new eye color.

Now let me know what you think...
Do you own this shadow liner? If so, what are your thoughts? If not, is this something you'd want to own?

Nicole by OPI - It's Not Me, It's Blue (NI 373)

Hello, Beautiful!

On my most recent trip to Target I picked up a few shades of polish, one of them being Nicole by OPI's It's Not Me, It's Blue - which immediately caught my eye. My ring finger nail is still a little nub, but I still wanted to show you this shade while I had it on because I think it's a beautiful color! It also dries fairly quickly; I applied three coats and it was set before I knew it. It did chip pretty quickly, but I change my polish daily so it's no big deal (I also didn't wrap the tips like I normally do).

I'm a little confused as why they list blue in the shade name because to me it's purple - but this is one of those shades where some people will call it purple and some will call it blue. I don't know.... what color do you see? Blue or purple?

Nicole by OPI - It's Not Me, It's Blue (NI 373)
Shade Description: I describe this shade as a shimmering smokey metallic purple, with flecks of multi colored glitter that really aren't noticeable except up close and at certain angles.
# of Coats & Other Polish: I applied one coat of Essie's First Base base coat, followed by three coats of Nicole by OPI's It's Not Me, It's Blue, and one coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.
