Santalia Intensive Spot Treatment for Acne - pics, swatches, review

Hello, Beautiful!

I get adult acne, and I hate it. As a teenager I barely had acne, and even into my early 20's I was pretty clear. Then my hormones changed due to some health problems and adult acne hit. I've been dealing with it ever since and over the years I've tried countless products. I'm allergic to benzoyl peroxide  so products containing that - like yucky Proactiv - can't work for me. But then that leaves me with even less choices on effective products out in the market place. Well I recently received a sample tube of the Santalia Intensive Spot Treatment - which is a brand built around using sandalwood oil. I couldn't wait to try it out and see how it would work for me. Does it work? Oh my god, yes it does! I plan to buy the cleanser too!

Santalia Intensive Spot Treatment

Santalia Intensive Spot Treatment Info & Review:
Cost/Availability: $25.00 (0.5 fl oz full size). Available on the Santalia website. You can also purchase the entire acne regimen kit for $80.
My Rating: 5 out of 5 Kisses!

Focused on the principle of providing acne-prone, sensitive skin with a natural, clinically proven solution, Santalia created a simple regimen based on the incredible Sandalwood tree, which is proven to quickly reduce and clear blemished skin without over drying.

Their products are formulated withOUT benzoyl peroxide, sulfates, artificial fragrance, dyes or preservatives and are naturally preserved with honeysuckle extract.

Santalia infuses each product with the following ingredients for optimum results:

  • Organic Sandalwood Oil is used to calm irritations and combat bacteria.
  • Traditional Australian plant extract, Lemon Myrtle, is known for antibacterial activity.
  • Australian bush food, Kakadu Plum, is considered the world's richest source of Vitamin C which is critical for healthy skin.
  • Extracts of Laminaria digitata, an extract of seaweed rich in minerals for balanced skin, and zinc to help reduce 5-alpha reductase activity and P. acnes (P. acnes is propinibacterium acne).

The Intensive Spot Treatment is a powerful booster that neutralizes newly forming breakouts before they emerge. The clear, quick-drying gel calms inflamed skin, while controlling bacteria. Has a natural, unisex aroma of sandalwood.

This product does smell like sandalwood, which is a very woodsy scent but a welcome change to some of the other smells my acne products have. I love how quick-drying this product is, which means I can apply it and move right on with my makeup routine in the morning, or right on with my skincare routine at night.

After the first use I noticed it helped my acne big-time. After using it just one week I was amazed at how well it worked for me. So amazed, that I plan to buy the cleanser next. I would buy the entire kit if my budget right now would allow me to do so, but it's for sure on my wish list!

I had no reactions or irritation using this product. On open acne lesions there was a little sting, probably from the salicylic acid in this spot treatment  but it wasn't bad at all. I noticed this product really helped to calm down inflammation and redness, something few other acne products have been able to do for me.

This is one acne product that worked great for me and I would highly recommend giving it a try!

Now let me know what you think...

  2. @ Sunny: I think you will really love it! I know I've tried sooo many different products and brands, many of which didn't do much for me. This product works amazing for me, and I tested it on a friend recently who had bad back acne. Within 2 days it was almost completely gone!
