Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon Colour Morphing Eye Shadow Pencil in Dark Pearl

Hello, Beautiful!

I have more than enough shadow pencils, and most of them in my collection are super affordable and from the drugstore (Milani and Jordana are staples in my collection and come highly recommened). However, there was something about the Charlotte Tilbury shadow pencil in the shade Dark Pearl that caught my attention. I had never seen it in person but Tarababyz's video on her Charlotte Tilbury collection with swatches sold the shade to me!

Dark Pearl is such a beautiful shade and it deserves so much more recognition. I don't have anything as a dupe in my collection either; combine that with the formula and performance and this was $27 well spent.

Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon
Colour Morphing Eye Shadow Pencil
Shade: Dark Pearl

This shade is a beauty!! I know it doesn't look like much here, but trust me, it's a stunner!

Little did I know these shades were specific to eye color; I just bought it based on a swatch! I just happen to have brown eyes, so I guess I picked the one right for me - even though I think anyone would look gorgeous in this shade!

This is what the box looks like:

Here are the ingredients on the side of the box:

You can see the gorgeous light reflecting shimmers!

These two swatches do NOT do this shade justice. It's slightly darker and more intense in person. It's very flattering. If you go to the Charlotte Tilbury website, or search for swatches, you will see what I mean.

I can best describe this as a taupe-y, purple, brown metallic shimmer.

It glides on incredibly smooth and full of pigmentation. Easy to blend out, if you want. The warning that you shouldn't have it come in contact with your eye had me worried, since this is an eye pencil., but I keep it on my lids and have no issues. I think you could possibly experience irritation if you used it on your waterline, but there is a specific warning against that use - so don't be brave and try to use it there.

THE FINAL VERDICT...

I was blown away by the shade and the formulation of this product. I know $27 is a lot of money for one shadow pencil, but if you pick a shade you'll wear all the time, then the price is worth it. Especially when you take the perfect formula into consideration. It's a great way to treat yourself!

It says it lasts up to 12 hours or until you take it off. I didn't notice any issues with wear (no creasing, fading, etc), but I normally use a shadow primer of some sort.

If you have brown eyes, or are just a fan of this kind of shade, then I highly recommend Dark Pearl! I was really worried I would regret spending the money on this, but all regret went out the window on first swatch!

Now let me know what you think...

  1. Oh wow, that shade is sooo beautiful! I've come to love purple/mauve toned browns and taupes, they seem to be universally gorgeous and I love a good cream shadow that sets and doesn't move!
