I have been absolutely gushing about the new Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able Full Coverage Foundation Concentrate on my Instagram. In fact, I've made so many posts I think it's becoming annoying at this point. But I can't help it... this foundation is seriously amazing. If you want full coverage in one layer, this is it! So I figured I'd go ahead and make a blog post all about it, along with the concealer, so it's all in one post. Full info and reviews mixed in throughout the pics below.
Marc Jacobs - Re(marc)able Full Coverage Foundation Concentrate
Shade: Bisque Gold 29
I chose the shade Bisque Gold 29... and I actually chose the shade by accident. I meant to order the shade next to it, but I guess on the Sephora app my finger slipped and I chose the wrong shade. This shade still works for me. The shade is described on the Sephora site as fair light with peach undertones. The shade I originally wanted was Bisque Taupe 28, which is described as fair light with yellow undertones.
For something described as fair light, I do find it to still pull pretty dark on me and yes I'm light complected, but I certainly have color to me. I'm not sure how dark these shades run, as I haven't seen them in person.
When you take off the black lid there will be a silver lid, which pulls out and that's your applicator.
I find that this is the part that gets very messy, and collects product. I'm assuming this happens when I shake it up before I use it (since you should be shaking all your liquid foundations before you use them), because I keep this upright on my beauty desk. I sometimes will take (a clean) finger and remove the product from around the rim and use that on my face. Lots of product collects there so take advantage of using it so you don't waste any, since this is a pricey foundation ($55).
The applicator is NOT a dropper. I've read some "reviews" (from people that don't own this foundation and have never even seen it in person) that state you are to use this just as you would use the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops.... and that couldn't be more wrong! The Cover FX Custom Cover Drops (which are amazing, by the way) have a dropper applicator, and you use 1 to 5 drops of product to mix in with another product (such as a foundation, tinted moisturizer, serum, etc.). This Marc Jacobs foundation does NOT have a dropper. It DOES look like a dropper, but it's not. And you also are to use this as any other liquid foundation. Sure, you could mix it in with other foundations if you wanted to, but you don't NEED to in order to use this. Even the instructions that are included with the foundation say to apply to face and buff in with a brush. I just needed to put that out there so there is no confusion on the applicator.
In terms of how you apply it, I have done two things: either directly apply the applicator to my face or I take the product off the applicator with my fingers and apply to my face that way. My favorite way to blend this out is with a Beauty Blender, since this foundation is so full coverage that you don't have to rely on a brush to get the most coverage. You can also apply this with your fingers and get amazing coverage too, but I find it can get a bit streaky that way.
Here is the swatch of the shade I selected. It somehow works on my face. I'm not sure how long I'll get to use this shade before I need to switch it up, but for now this is what I'm working with.
There are currently 22 shades to choose from, so there is a nice mix so you can hopefully find your match. If you can get to a Sephora (that carries Marc Jacobs) and swatch these, I highly recommend it.
Before I get to the Before & After pics, here are some of my thoughts and some things I want to point out about this foundation....
First of all, this is pricey. It's $55 and I was extremely hesitant to purchase this based on the price. However, if a product truly works for me then I don't mind spending the money if it's really something I need to have in my makeup collection. This foundation is worth every penny and I will always make sure to budget so I can get a replacement bottle. Now that's not to say that another foundation comes along and I love that one even more, but for right now at this very moment, this is holy grail amazement.
Also, keep this in mind, this is not a full one fluid ounce like most foundations typically are. This is 0.75 ounces, so you'll go through this faster - but maybe not because a little goes a long way and you only need one layer.
I have normal to dry skin, so I use a moisturizer and then a hydrating primer before I apply this foundation. In case you were wondering, I use the Make Up For Ever Step 1 Primer, Hydrating (it's in the light blue tube). I find that this does dry down on me and I don't need to set it with powder. I still set my t-zone with a light dusting of powder (Rimmel Stay Matte works great, I use the Translucent shade).
If you do plan to powder your face, I highly suggest waiting until this foundation is fully dry down because if not, I find that powder kind of clings to the skin and can look a bit weird in certain places. If I allow it to fully dry I don't have issues with that happening, even when I set this foundation with my DermaBlend Setting Powder, using the DermaBlend method to apply (which if you've seen my video on Instagram, you know it uses a heavy coating of powder -- basically makes you look like you threw flour on your face, but it brushes away to nothing and perfectly sets your makeup for hours and hours).

Below are three Before & After comparison pics. You can see why I'm absolutely in love with this foundation. As someone that needs and wants full coverage, this foundation will get the job done! I was so impressed with this foundation, I can't even believe it every time I apply it. And I only ever use just one layer, because I don't need a second; it's just that good!
My lighting was really off for the before & after pic below, but I promise in person it blends with my neck and chest and looks like my skin.

Marc Jacobs - Re(marc)able Full Coverage Concealer
Shade: 2 Alive
Shade: 2 Alive
I got the shade 2 Alive, which is the second lightest shade. I purposely wanted a brightening shade for my under eyes, and this does brighten them. It also covers up all my discoloration and dark circles. You can't really tell by the before & after pic below, since studio lights can sometimes hide imperfections and darkness, but trust me when I say in person this concealer hides it all.
There aren't as many shades of concealer as there are foundation. There are only 7 shades in the concealer, but 22 shades of the foundation. And like I mentioned, I chose the second shade so I'm not sure how good of a match everyone would get.
Before I show you the Before & After pic, here are my thoughts and quick review....
This concealer is pricey - $32 - so I of course was hesitate to purchase this. However, I knew I was head-over-heels in love with the foundation so I was hopeful I'd also enjoy the concealer. Do I think it's worth $32? Eh, yes and no. I'll explain in a minute...
The texture of this concealer is divine. It is extremely creamy, silky smooth, and applies nicely to your face. I blend it out with a Beauty Blender, but you could use your fingers for a more concentrated, full-coverage look. A brush would also likely give you similar results to using your fingers. I just find a Beauty Blender to be perfect for under eye concealer.
To me, it looks great on the skin. I do set it with a powder - but I tend to do that with any concealer I'm wearing, just because I am 31 and have fine lines under my eyes and I don't want concealer to fall into those lines or crease up throughout the day.
I did upload a quick video on my Instagram showing the application, blending and a close-up of how it looks on the skin. Instagram lowers the quality when you upload a video, and I can't figure out why, so it isn't the most high-def viewing, but hopefully you can still get the point: CLICK HERE.
Back to the subject of if I think this is worth $32 or not... in a sense, yes, because I do enjoy using it. It covers what I want, it brightens, and the texture is so wonderful. But the downside is you get very little product... I'm afraid I'll hit pan before I know it because the packaging makes it appear you're getting more but really you're not. But again, I wouldn't mind that so much if I like the product - and I do like it.
While I do like this concealer, I don't absolutely love it like I do the foundation. The foundation I would re-purchase without hesitation. The concealer I would have a bit more hesitation on, only because I have other concealers that cost less and can give similar results. I recently got the new Bare Minerals BareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer and really like that one, which is only $20. However, the Marc Jacobs concealer has a touch more coverage and is slightly more brightening (and the brightening effect would be more based on shade selection).
