Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer in Celestial & Nova - pics, swatches, review

Hello, Beautiful!

These Rimmel Lip Lacquers finally made their way to the USA. If you're over in the UK you already know all about these - launched as the Apocolips Lip Lacquers -- which I think is a way cuter name, than Show Off Lip Lacquer. But anyway, I really was excited to try these out. I picked up two shades at my local Walgreens. Check out my full review below, including all the product info, after the pics!

The intense rich color of a lipstick, enhanced by a satin smooth shine. It's neither a lipstick nor a gloss, it's bigger than both. Long live the color!

I would agree and say this is a mix of a lipstick and a lip gloss... a melted lipstick, if you will. Available in I believe 14 shades; 9 are cream shades and 5 are shimmer shades. I picked up two cream shades: Celestial and Nova.

Celestial is your more wearable, neutral, your-lips-but-butter pink but it still has a pop of color to it. Where as Nova is your very bright pink. Both have great pigmentation.

The applicator is your standard doe-foot applicator, but there is a hole in the middle, which holds more of the product making it a one-dip product to get all the color you need from a single swipe.

They are so pigmented and creamy rich that you do need a mirror to apply them, because it's easy to go out of the lines with this sort of product - but with a mirror I didn't have a problem applying them. They look really nice and full-color once on. They feel comfortable on the lips. The color lasts about as long as a lipgloss in terms of the shine it leaves behind, but sticks around slightly longer due to the lipstick-like quality of this.

Overall, I thought these were nice and I do like the two colors I purchased. I don't think I'd want to purchase any other shades because no others really popped out at me, but I always say that and then pick up another on a random Walgreens trip. I'd recommend these!

The Rimmel Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch is a great little highlighting product that comes in four shades. I have the shade 003 Peach Glow, which goes good with my skintone. It's time to make you glow! Lightweight, ultra blendable mousse formula. Gives an instant touch of radiance and illuminates the skin. Wakes up skin with a healthy looking glow and a long-lasting flush of color.

Available in 4 shades: Peach Glow (which is what I have and what I'm showing you in this post), Radiant Rose, Shimmering Sand, and Flush of Pearl. Peach Glow is actually a bit more of a pink-peach; very pretty! It is just slightly more peach in tone than how it shows in the photo but it's not an orange peach; more of a pale pinky peach. I really liked the shade Peach Glow and would probably like to try Shimmering Sand as well.

A little goes a long way with this; you really don't need to use a lot. It blends out easily and leaves behind a shimmer, but not a glitter. It's great to use under your foundation for a subtle glow, or even mix in with your foundation. Use on top of foundation for a more noticeable shimmer. I also like to use this on my eyes on days I don't want to wear more than an eyeliner but I want to feel like I have a little more going on.

They have a mousse-cream texture that blends easily and feels weightless once blended out. Depending on your skintone and the shade you choose, you may be able to use these as a cream blush. I just like them as a highlight or eyelid shade.

Overall, I think these are a great little shimmer/illuminating product you can find at the drugstore. I'd recommend checking them out if you're looking to add some radiance to your face!

The Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil is used to enhance and refine the shape of your eyebrows. Use to fill in gaps or lengthen the arch of the eyebrow to create the desired brow look you like.

Available in a few shades; I know this pencil is getting harder to find but I think there are 3 to 4 shades available. I have the shade 001 Dark Brown, which is a good fit for my brows. It may be a little red undertoned, but it's not overly red. I can still get away with it in real life (I know in the before & after photo it's a bit more noticeable, but it will always be more noticeable in photos that are close-up and taken with my studio lighting).

It was easy to use and quickly filled in my brows. The only part I didn't like at all is the little comb that is on the cap. I think it's awful. I would much prefer a spooley to comb through the brows, which is what I use whenever I use this pencil (for the photo I used the comb on the cap). This is one brow pencil that I can get by with wearing on its own and no need for powder too. It can be applied with a slightly lighter hand to give a more natural look or a slightly harder hand for a more defined brow look.

For just $3.99 (or less, depending where you shop), this is one of the better drugstore brow products I've tried. It's not super long-wearing in terms of staying in place if you rub your brows, but it should make it through a normal day with no issues.

Overall, I think if you're looking for a budget brow product this is a great place to start; I would just recommend using a spooley to comb through the product.

Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish Lipsticks - 2 matte shades, 2 regular shades - pics, swatches, review

If you haven't already seen the Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipsticks (regular and matte versions) then you're in luck because I have four shades to share with you in this post - although I'm sure you've at least heard of these lipsticks, if not seen them at the drugstore. I have two from the matte line (#102 and #107) and two from the regular line (#17 and #09). They are near identical shades - it's just a matter of do you want a more matte lip or not. The Matte Lasting Finish Kate Moss lipstick formula is ruby powder enriched for intense velvet color all day!

Both lipsticks seem to have a similar feel on the lips. The matte version is only slightly more matte and I wouldn't even really say it's very matte on the lips. If you look at them compared to the original, they look like they have a similar finish. Maybe I'm just crazy, but I don't see much difference. In person the matte lipsticks are maybe slightly more matte than how they show up in photos.

The colors I have are pretty, wearable shades. I know shade #17 is a popular "your lips but better" shade - but I think for me it's a little too cool toned. I think I like the matte shades better, but I like them both. What do you think?
