MAKE Cosmetics Silk Cream Lipstick in Heliotrope- pics, swatches, review

Earlier this month I reviewed the MAKE Cream Luminous Lip Gloss, which instantly became a new fav of mine for the color and formula. I have another MAKE lip product to share with you in this post, their Silk Cream Lipstick in the shade Heliotrope. Check out of my full review, including all the product info, after the pics!

Vivid, saturated color that does double duty as a protective moisturizing treatment with antioxidant vitamins, rosehip, soybean and safflower oils. Aloe and chamomile extracts further condition lips. Feather-resistant and intensely pigmented in true-wear shades. Not tested on animals. Paraben-free. Hypoallergenic. 33.3% of all sales on We See Beauty is donated to the We See Beauty Foundation that establishes and supports cooperatives.

Currently available in 16 shades. I have the shade Heliotrope, which is described as a rich fuchsia pink with yellow undertones. I'd say that is an accurate description. It's a bit more vibrant in real life than in the photos - for sure a bright one! Nice cream shade with no shimmer. The shade Heliotrope is slightly staining on the lips due to the vibrant pigmentation. There are other shades I'd love to try, like Flamingo, Magnolia, and Pink Clay.

If you couldn't tell by the photo, the pigmentation on this lipstick is really nice. It goes on smooth and feels comfortable on the lips. The wear is average for a lipstick; but of course how long it lasts on you will depend on how much you're talking, eating, drinking, kissing, etc.

The actual shape of the lipstick bullet is a bit odd for my lip shape; it's too squared off and with such bold, vivid colors this is definitely one I'd need to apply with a lip brush to get the best application/look (I just applied it straight from the tube for the photo of the lipstick on my lips). I think, for me personally, the shape of the lipstick bullet is the only con of this lipstick. Your lip shape may be able to handle the shape just fine; I think I just have small lips!

Overall, I think this is a really nice quality, creamy lipstick that is very well pigmented. If you're looking for vibrant, creamy lipstick then you may love this MAKE Silk Cream Lipstick!

MAKE Brow Sculpting Duo in Cool & Expert Brow Definer Brush#10 - pics, before & after, swatches, reviews

I love trying brow products out, since I fill in my brows every single day. I recently tried the MAKE Brow Sculpting Duo and the MAKE Expert Brow Definer Brush. This combo gives me a natural looking brow that is defined but not over done. Check out my full review below, including all the product info, after each set of pics.

This expert pairing sculpts and arches brows with a long-lasting powder to fill and correct and a coordinating wax to tame and set. Fill in brows with the powder first and then use the wax to set.

Available in three shades:

• Calm: soft taupe shades for blonde to light brown hair.
• Cool: warm brown shades for medium brown and red hair.
• Collected: deep espresso shades for dark brown and black hair.

I have a hard time finding the perfect brow color because a lot of brunette shades have red in them. I was hesitate to choose the Cool shade at first because it does say it's for medium brown and red hair, which made me think this may be yet another brow product that has too much red in it. However, the color turned out to be a really good match. Sure, it's a warmer brown -- although from the photos it looks more ashy, but it's not -- but it doesn't have a lot of red in it, making it work pretty nicely with my natural brow hair color.

The powder itself isn't super pigmented, but its pigmented enough to give brows a soft, natural look. The wax looks very dark, but it is a very sheer tinted wax that goes on almost clear. I don't really like using the wax - I prefer to set with a brow gel - but the brow powder is really nice. It lasts a decent amount of time and the color is a good fit.

As you can see in my before & after pic, it gives me a natural looking brow without looking over done. In person (because the photos show every detail that you normally wouldn't see in everyday lighting), this looks very nice and pulled together. When I want a simple brow I will just use the powder and when I want a more defined brow I will use a brow pencil first, then fill in with a powder.

Overall, I did like this duo. It's not my favorite brow product that I've ever tried, but I do find myself reaching for it often since getting it. Check this out the next time you're looking for a brow product.

From bold to elegantly slim, get the arches you want with the MAKE Brow Definer Brush. The slender angled tip, packed with natural sable hairs, grips both powder and cream brow formulas for excellent application. The high-gloss handle is lacquered nine times for maximum durability. This brush isn't super expensive, but it's not on the low end either, and because of the price I wanted to point something out because I know some of you out there don't like short handled brushes. This brush is about the size I'd expect of a travel brush, although the brush head itself is full size. I don't always mind a short handled brush, and I'm not complaining about it, but I did want to point it out. I also wish the opposite end had a spooley to help brush product through the hairs.

The actual brush applies products nicely; I've used it with the MAKE Brow Sculpting Duo and I've used it as an eyeliner brush. It works great for both uses. It's held up through a couple washes so far with no issues.

I think this is a nice brow brush that I'd recommend pairing with your MAKE Brow Sculpting Duo.

I have a new favorite lip gloss shade! The shade is called Nasturtium and it's from the brand MAKE; their Cream Luminous Lip Gloss! This is a perfect pink for me and not only is the shade beautiful, but I love the gloss too. This was a real winner for me and this is a gloss that looks prettier in person (especially on the lips) than it does in photos. Currently available in 9 shades. I have the shade Nasturtium (which may seem like a weird name, but it's actually the name of a flower). Nasturtium is described on their website as a soft pink with a yellow undertone. Because of the yellow undertone, this pink goes perfectly with my complexion. It's bright enough to wake up my face, but soft enough of a color to be so very wearable. I have been wearing this shade non-stop with a number of different eye looks and it's gorgeous. I'd love to try other shades, like Azalea, Dragon Fruit, and Flesh.

This gloss has great pigmentation, goes on smooth, is non-sticky and very shiny on the lips. The applicator is nice; it's a doe-foot applicator, but the middle is cinched in. You get plenty of product on the applicator, so no need to re-dip back in (sometimes I even swipe some of the product off the applicator before applying). It has a minty scent/flavor on the lips which feels refreshing.

I have plenty of lip glosses in my collection, but this is for sure a new favorite of mine; it hasn't left my purse - which says a lot. I don't mind the price of this gloss; I've paid more for other glosses that I've liked less and if I like a gloss formula and the shades are a great match for me, then the price doesn't matter because I will get full use out of this gloss.

Overall, if you couldn't tell already, I LOVE this lip gloss and would highly recommend! If you have light to medium skin with yellow undertones (like I do) then this is a must-have pink shade!
